Elaine Virginia Giles

Elaine Virginia Forsberg Giles of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, June 28, 2016. She was overcome by medical complicati­ons resulting from mul- tiple blood clots. She was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Worcester, Mass., to Thorsten Forsberg and Matilda Rudman. She was one of five children.

She lived her early years in the Swedish Quinsigamo­nd Village and was a member of Quinsigamo­nd United Methodist Church.

She met her husband, Robert S. Giles, while working in the local bakery in Quinsigamo­nd Village. They married July 30, 1949, and had three children. She lived in Worcester for the earlier part of their marriage.

She spent the retired years of her life in East Falmouth, Mass, Grosse Ile, Mich., and Bella Vista. She loved the adventures of flying around New England with her pilot-husband in their four-seater Cessna plane. She also loved her morning coffee, watching old movies on TCM, and nightly crossword puzzles.

She was preceded by her husband, Robert Giles, who died Dec. 25, 2009; and siblings Pauline Mayberry, Dorothy Nelson, and Warren Forsberg.

Survivors include her three children, Paul G. Giles of Brockton, Mass., Nancy G. Monkley and husband, Raymond, of Bella Vista, and Sandra G. Strickland and husband, Thomas, of Grosse Ile; five grandchild­ren, Evan Monkley and wife, Julie, of Sarasota, Fla., Hilary Gore and husband, John, of Bella Vista, Thomas Strickland and wife, Marta, of Commerce Township, Mich., Lon Strickland and wife, Roxanne, of Los Angeles, and George Strickland of Trenton, Mich.; eight great-grandchild­ren; and a sister, Jean Bianchi of Northborou­gh, Mass.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Trinity Grace Church, 5845 Bellview Road, Rogers, Ark.

Visitation will start at 1 p.m.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762 or your local hospice chapter.

James ‘Jack’ Edward Hennings

James “Jack” Edward Hennings, 89, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was born June 16, 1927, in Maynard, Ark., to Ora Arlenea Cole and Franklin Ellis Hennings.

He was raised in northeast Arkansas, the oldest of five siblings. He served his country in the U.S. Army, Merchant Marines and U.,s. Air Force. After his time in the military, he moved to Gary, Ind., and met the love of his life, Frances “Fran” Rose. They married Nov. 7, 1952, and were married for 63 years.

He worked at U.S. Steel in Gary until his retirement to Bella Vista. He then worked with his brother, Bill, in a painting and mowing business.

Some of his favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing, bowling, camping and being an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. The family so enjoyed listening to him tell stories of his life. He was a Christian who was actively involved at Bella Vista Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fran, who died March 2016; and a brother, Kenneth.

Survivors include his children, Brian Hennings, Stephen Hennings and wife, Sue, Corene Crawhorn and husband, Tim, Kathy Lackey and husband, Bob, and Paula Sepulveda and husband, David; his siblings, Bill Hennings and wife, Ailene, Mike Hennings and wife, Pat, and Darlene Hennings; 13 grandchild­ren; and numerous great-grandchild­ren.

Immediate family will have a private memorial service.

The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers at Innisfree Nursing Rehab and facility and the Bradford House Rehab.

David Alan Tropansky

David Alan Tropansky, 52, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Highland Healthcare and Rehab. He was born July 26, 1963, in East Stroudsbur­g, Pa., to Joseph and Barbara Tropansky.

He died with his wife, sister-in-law and niece holding his hands. He passed away from complicati­ons of multiple sclerosis.

David graduated from high school in Cavalier, N.D., in 1981 and Buena Vista College at Storm Lake, Iowa, in 1985.

After college, he was employed at an IBP plant in Storm Lake as a supervisor in the Material Handling department. He then bean working for constructi­on firms.

On Nov. 3, 1990, he and Danette Johnson were married at the Presbyteri­an Church in Alta, Iowa. In 1997, they moved to Bella Vista, where he worked for the Facilities Maintenanc­e Department at the Bella Vista Property Owners Associatio­n.

In April 2001, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He continued to work until his MS progressed to the point that he no longer could.

He loved jokes, was an avid collector of baseball cards and enjoyed NASCAR. His favorite drivers were Tony Stewart and the Dale Earnhardt. He was a Christian. Survivors include his wife, Danette; his parents, Joe and Barbara Tropansky of Bella Vista; his brother, Mark Tropansky and wife, Robin, of Spring Hill, Kan.; Danette’s parents, Jerry and Elsie Johnson of Bella Vista; sister-inlaw Sharmin Grundmeier and husband, Dennis, of Schaller, Iowa; a brotherin-law, Jerry Johnson Jr. of Ankeny, Iowa; five nieces and nephews, including Roxanne Grundmeier of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1500 Forest Hill Boulevard (Arkansas Highway 279), in Bella Vista at 11 a.m Saturday, July 30.

Memorials may be made to the Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista or Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonvill­e, Ark.
