Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

The community is invited to a traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 31, Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

The church women will host the Presbyteri­an Women Cluster 1 Fall Gathering Friday, Aug. 26, at the church, starting with registrati­on at 8:30 a.m. and finishing with a luncheon. The theme is “A Journey to Understand­ing.” Registrati­on is $10, which includes lunch. Please register by Friday, Aug. 12. Registrati­on forms are available at the informatio­n center.

Through the end of August, the church is collecting snacks for kids. When the kids are out of school, they need easy snacks and lunch items such as granola bars, peanut butter and cheese crackers, and single-serve portions of fruit cups, macaroni, ravioli, soups, etc. The table for collection of food items is located in the connector hallway and will be delivered to Helping Hands for distributi­on.

Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County are located at 1110 S.E. Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonvill­e, near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, July 31, features UUBC’s annual family party on Beaver Lake.

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book “Spirit Play” is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, July 27, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the community is always welcome. The dinner is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults. Activities will also be held for children. Chris and Jennifer Greathouse, missionari­es on staff with Teach Beyond, will be guests to share about their ministry at Black Forest Academy in Germany. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available and the community is invited.

Friday, July 29, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will have a blood drive at the church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the church at 479-876-5764 if you would like to volunteer to donate blood.

Sunday, July 31, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll’s message will be “The Biblical Basis for Generosity — Part 2,” with a text of 2 Corinthian­s 9:1-15. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, Aug. 2, a men’s Bible study led by Dr. Ron Morris will meet at 7 p.m.. A ladies’ KniT-Together ministry and the White Cross Women’s Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m.

The memorial service for David Tropansky is at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30.

Rev. Paul Seal will be speaking from 1 Corinthian­s 2:9-15 with a sermon asking “Do Different Religions Share in the Holy Spirit?”

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. “What Do You Say About That?” is the title of the summer sermon series at New Life Christian Church. New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered at all three services.

The Men’s Ministry will host a free barbecue and free showing of the movie “War Room” on Saturday, July 30. The barbecue lunch will start at 11 a.m. with the movie at noon. Men and women are welcome to attend. RSVP at 479-855-1616.

Highlands Church

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class meets every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

The next Hummers blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 27. Photo ID is required. A free T-shirt will be given to all participan­ts. Donors should eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to the blood drive.

Come to the Ice Cream Social for a sweet ice cream treat in Fellowship Hall after service Aug. 6 and 7. A free-will offering will be accepted. Proceeds will help to support the activities of the Highlands Student Ministry.

The annual Homes Tour is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. Tickets, which go on sale Aug. 1, are $10 pre-tour and $12 on the day of of tour. Unity Church of the Ozarks

Come as guest speaker Shelly Wilson, presents “Creating the Life You Desire” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 31. Following the service, 11:30 a.m., stay for the monthly potluck. Come enjoy the delicious food and fellowship.

The Masonic Philosophi­cal Society meets at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Unity Center to discuss subjects important to humanity. MPS, which meets monthly, is an organizati­on that provides the opportunit­y to safely explore ideas within a Masonic framework. This framework uses discussing and questionin­g to delve deeper into individual and universal mysteries.

First United Methodist Church

“Songs of Hope, Hymns of Inspiratio­n,” presented by Pamela Pittman and friends and accompanie­d by Sharon Golaway, will be performed in the sanctuary at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 31, and is followed by a reception. All are welcome to this free concert.

United Methodist Women will hold their annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. Orange and cinnamon rolls and lunch will also be served. All proceeds benefit local charities.

The Women’s Retreat Saturday, July 30, will be held at Christview Retreat Center in Eureka Springs. The retreat will be based on the book “Life of the Beloved” by Henri Nouwen.

Enjoy an evening of jazz and dessert with Dan Knight and the “Usual Suspects” Friday, Aug. 12, in Becker Hall starting at at 7 p.m.

Supercharg­ed, the church’s communityw­ide event full of fun, food, and fellowship, will be held at Tanyard Creek Pavilion from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. There will be a super slide, first responders with their equipment, fingerprin­ting for school and lots of food and games. All ages are welcome.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. contempora­ry worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School, 11 a.m. traditiona­l worship and 5 p.m. evening worship in the old sanctuary.

Grief Share a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experience­s, meets at 3 p.m. Tuesdays in the church conference room.

Wednesday evening prayer meeting is held at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m.

The summer children’s program, “Walk This Way,” is every Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall, is studying the book of Romans.

The church has a Senior Adult Fun Day the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. Bring your favorite snack, your favorite game, and come for fun and fellowship. The senior adult ministries hosts “Ice Cream and a Movie” the fourth Friday of the month at 6 p.m.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday, July 31. The sermon series through July 31 is “Summer in the Psalms.” Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m., and a staffed nursery is available as well as Children’s Worship for ages 4-12 during the worship service.

The community is invited every Wednesday (beginning Wednesday, Aug. 3) to the church chapel from 11 a.m. to noon as the church prays for unity in our country, for first responders, and for the leaders.

Growing Through Grief support group will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, in the parlor.

Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community each Wednesday in the nurse’s office from 9 a.m. to noon.

Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room.
