He attended grade school at St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Joliet, was confirmed Palm Sunday 1943, and graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war from 1950-1952. He worked for Commonweal­th Edison as a Boiler Operator in Joliet for 30 years, retiring in 1985.

He and Barb retired to Winchester, Wis., at Birch Lake where he spent his days fishing. He enjoyed carpentry and worked with Laborers for Christ, building Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder Junction, Wis. They retired to Bella Vista in 1985. He was a longtime, active member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church, belonged to the Bella Vista Fly Tyers, and enjoyed fishing and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harlow Roseen Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara R. Roseen, of Joliet, whom he married April 24, 1952; three children, Karen Rousculp and husband Todd of Joliet, Nancy Roose and husband Robert of Johns Creek, Ga., David Roseen and wife Kathy of Joliet; and four grandchild­ren, Carl and Adam Roose, and Matthew and Jeremy Roseen.

Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Bella Vista.

A memorial service followed in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Lutheran building fund.

Esther Lee Storey

Esther Lee Storey died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of Dr. Wray and Mary Storey.

She graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. She received both her undergradu­ate degree and Masters in Education from the University of Arkansas. She began her career in teaching in Prairie Grove, Ark. She later taught at San Jacinto Elementary, served as Director at Mariah Flat - a center for adults with disabiliti­es in Odessa, Texas - and taught at Odessa High School. In 2006, she moved back to Northwest Arkansas and taught Special Education at Bentonvill­e High School until her retirement in 2013.

Her smile, spirit and passion for life lit up every room she entered. She was a gifted storytelle­r and captured the heart of everyone she met. Her laugh was infectious, and her beauty was only matched by her grace. Her passion for children and adults with special needs is evident by her lifelong work. She was tough as nails while also having a heart of gold. She rescued hundreds of abandoned animals throughout her life and lived her final years with her beloved companion, Gurley, a thin German Shephard she rescued from an overpass in Texas over ten years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Tamara Storey Martin.

She is survived by her brother, Judge William A. Storey and wife Patricia; her sister, Rosemary Storey Harris and Tracy Spears; her nieces, Jill Storey Mathews, Lindly Storey Mikesch and husband John, Judge Beth Storey Bryan and husband Davey, Christine Martin Anderson and husband Matthew, and Alexandra Harris; her nephew, Edward Hunter Harris and wife Diana; many great-nieces and great-nephews; Bentonvill­e High School colleagues, and life-long friends whom she adored.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel, 504 Memorial Drive, in Bella Vista, Ark.
