St. Bernard Catholic Church

St. Bernard Catholic Church is located at 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista. Mass is 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Aug. 10, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the community is always welcome. The dinner is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults. Activities will also be held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Sunday, Aug. 14, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled “Peter’s Last Words.” This week’s sermon title is “Remember: Jesus Christ Is Your All in All,” with a text of 2 Peter 1:3-11. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, Aug. 16, a men’s Bible study led by Dr. Ron Morris will meet at 7 p.m., and men from the community are always welcome. A ladies’ KniT Together ministry and the White Cross Women’s Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m. The ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in the area as well as a hospital in Congo. This too is open to any ladies who would like to come and learn more about it

Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

Members of the church will gather at Highland Healthcare and Rehab at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, for a Sing-a-long with the residents.

The community is invited to a traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

The women of the church will host the Presbyteri­an Women Cluster 1 Fall Gathering Friday, Aug. 26, at the church. The event begins with registrati­on at 8:30 a.m. and finishes with a luncheon. The theme is “A Journey to Understand­ing.” Registrati­on is $10 and includes lunch. Please register by Friday, Aug. 12. Registrati­on forms are available at the Informatio­n Center.

Through the end of August, the church is collecting snacks for kids.

When the kids are out of school, they need easy snacks and lunch items such as granola bars, peanut butter and cheese crackers, and single-serve portions of fruit cups, macaroni, ravioli, soups, etc. The table for collection of food items is located in the connector hallway and will be delivered to Helping Hands for distributi­on.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. At 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Paul Seal will be speaking from Matthew 6:25-30 with a sermon titled “Stewardshi­p is Personal.”

The annual Homes Tour is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. Tickets are $10 pre-tour and $12 on the day of of tour. Forest Hills Church

Forest Hills Church welcomes people of all faiths to worship this Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Retired pastor Mark Kirby will be delivering the sermons until the church finds a permanent pastor. The adult Sunday

School class begins at 9:45 a.m., and the Prayer and Bible Study is led by Mark Kirby on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. contempora­ry worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School, 11 a.m. traditiona­l worship and 5 p.m. evening worship in the old sanctuary.

Grief Share, a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experience­s, meets at 3 p.m. Tuesdays in the church conference room.

Wednesday evening prayer meeting is held at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m.

The summer children’s program, “Walk This Way,” is Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The last week of the program is Aug. 10.

AWANA and Children’s Choirs kickoff Aug. 17 with an Open House and Ice Cream Social from 6 to 7 p.m. Register children for AWANA and Children’s Choirs, and meet their leaders. There will also be games and surprises. This is not a drop-off night.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, is studying the book of Romans.

The church has a Senior Adult Fun Day the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. Bring your favorite snack, your favorite game, and come for fun and fellowship. The senior adult ministries hosts “Ice Cream and a Movie” the fourth Friday of the month at 6 p.m.

Stitch N’ Chat is from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. This is a dropin event. Bring any needlework or other craft project you are working on, or learn to knit or crochet with their help.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. “Jump” is the title of the sermon series. New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered in all three services.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Anna Teel will be preaching Sunday, Aug. 14, with a sermon titled “Obedience: God’s Love Language.” Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m., and a staffed nursery is available as well as Children’s Worship for ages 4-12 during the worship service.

The community is invited every Wednesday to the church chapel from 11 a.m. to noon as the church prays for unity in the country, for first responders, and for the leaders.

The next Newcomers’ Orientatio­n will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in the parlor. Those interested in knowing more about Bella Vista Community Church are invited to attend.

Caregivers’ (All) Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in the parlor.

Hope Happens Here Cancer Support Group will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in the parlor.

Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community each Wednesday in the nurse’s office from 9 a.m. to noon.

Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room.
