Sharon earns Eagle Scout
Nathan Sharon, 16, of Bella Vista, earned his Eagle Scout rank May 19.
His Court of Honor was held Aug. 13.
He is the son of Dan and Susan Sharon, and a member of Troop 525 in Bentonville. His Troop scoutmaster is Dennis Lowe.
For his Eagle Scout project, Sharon planned and executed the renovation of a Civil War-era cemetery, Phagan Cemetery in Gentry. He managed more than 30 volunteers and logged more than 140 hours for this project. When they began, the headstones were hidden by brush. At completion, all headstones were clean and could finally be seen. A tremendous amount of brush was cleared and trees thinned out as well. Now future generations can more easily pay respects to their family members.
