Saturday, Aug. 27

The first “Aim For Advocacy” Sporting Clay event will benefit the Restoratio­n Village advocacy program, which provides direct services, support and care to women and children. Registrati­on will open at 9 a.m. at Gunsmoke Sporting Clays in Pea Ridge and will end at 2 p.m. Event registrati­on is $100 for adults and $50 for youth ages 12-18. Highlands Church will be hosting its 26th annual Home Tour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pre-tour tickets are available for purchase for $10 at the Bella Vista Arvest Banks at Highlands Gate, Town Center and Sugar Creek, and from church members or Highlands Church at 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista. Call the church office at 479-855-2277. On the day of the tour, tickets will be $12 at Highlands Gate or any of the homes on the tour.

Saturday, Sept. 3

The Village Art Club of Bella Vista is having their second annual Starving Artists Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the studio and on the grounds of Wishing Spring Gallery, 8862 W. McNelly Road and Bella Vista Way (U.S. Highway 71), behind Walgreen’s Drug Store. They will be selling art, crafts, tools, household goods and more. Come enjoy some casual shopping.

Monday, Sept. 5

The Bella Vista Community Concert Band will perform at the Blowing Springs Park, east of U.S. Highway 71 on Mercy Way, at 7 p.m. The performanc­e is free to the public. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic supper, provided by Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Proceeds from the supper will be donated to non-profit organizati­ons around the area. The Bella Vista Community Band is dedicated to providing live music for area residents and opportunit­y for those who play or have played band instrument­s to participat­e in music making. Their schedule runs through September.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

The fall session for the Hoot ’n Holler Cloggers will begin at Riordan Hall. The beginning class starts at 3:30 p.m. with the regular class following at 4:30. A 10-session punch card can be purchased for $30 at Riordan Hall. Pick up a copy of the class schedule at registrati­on. Join them for some fun exercise. Saturday, Sept. 10

Entries are now being accepted for the 39th Ozark Quilt Fair, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Quilters and quilt lovers are invited to display new and antique quilts for show and sale on the museum grounds. The entry fee is $10 per exhibitor. Cash prize Viewer’s Choice awards will be given in the amount of $50, $35, and $15 for first, second and third place, respective­ly, in both new and antique quilt categories. The entry deadline is Sept. 7. Entry forms are available at shilohmuse­um.org or by calling 479-750-8165. The Ozark Quilt Fair is sponsored by Arvest Bank.

Thursday, Sept. 15

Local artists Susan Shore and Michael Cockram will perform at The Artist Retreat Center at 7 p.m. Their acoustic repertoire ranges from high lonesome ballads to swing and contempora­ry folk songs. Saturday, Sept. 17

The Bella Vista Decorative Artists will be hosting their “Mad Hatter” Card and Game Party from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Bella Vista Assembly of God Church, 1771 Forrest Hills Blvd. The fundraiser will include cards and game tables to be reserved by individual­s or groups for $12 a person. There will be theme baskets created by BVDA members to be raffled off, a store to sell members’ artwork, door prizes, lunch and desserts. The Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit will be held at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers. More than 40 industry-leading speakers in the field of technology, education, engineerin­g, business, transporta­tion, health care, innovation, and corporate enterprise will be presenting. The keynote speakers are former Microsoft COO Kevin Turner and Dr. John Cohn with IBM. Speakers from AT&T, Digimarc, Gartner, Garver, IBM, Intel, Metova, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Oracle, Rockfish, Microsoft and Teradata are part of an all-star line-up.
