Camo Classic Golf Tournament
The POA is hosting the 10th annual Camo Classic golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 3, on its Kingswood and Berksdale courses.
The Camo Classic is a four-person scramble open to all Northwest Arkansas golfers with contests, prizes, food, and more. Not only is the Camo Classic a day of fun for the entire family, but it also supports an amazing cause — $40 of each team’s entry fee will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which supports the families of fallen and injured United States soldiers.
Each Bella Vista Village golf shop will provide golfers with donation jars for the Folds of Honor Foundation. Additionally, players can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a pair of My Joy custom shoes or a Bridgestone golf bag. There will also be a prize for Best Camouflage Outfit.
The 2015 Camo Classic golf tournament raised more than $3,200. This year, they strive to double that amount, setting their fundraising goal at $6,400.
For more information about the Folds of Honor Foundation, visit www.FoldsofHonor.org. To sponsor a hole, call Sylvia at 479-8555019.
Prostate Cancer Golf Outing
The 10th annual Prostate Cancer Golf Outing will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Kingsdale Complex. The four-man teams will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
There will be coffee and doughnuts to start the event, and a barbecue lunch will be served following play.
Golf gifts and prizes will be given out, and they will have a special 10th-anniversary raffle with a prize package to Pebble Beach.
Guest speakers at the luncheon will be Dr. Robert Zimmerman of Mercy Hospital and Chris Conway of the National Prostate Cancer Foundation.
On Monday, Sept. 12, there will be a prostate cancer education and screening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Allen’s Foods parking lot, 60 Sugar Creek Center.
Each year, approximately 250 men participate in the Golf Outing. This event’s last nine years have resulted in more than $140,000 being donated to The Prostate Cancer Foundation and more than 800 men receiveing free prostate exams.
