Billy F. Farnsworth

Billy F. Farnsworth, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. He was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Anson, Texas, a son of the late Ed and Eva Farnsworth.

Following graduation from Anson High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and then served in the U. S. Marines. He served in the Pacific Theater in World War II.

After returning to Anson, he married Gerry Beasley in 1946. He worked for his father at Farnsworth Grocery and later was the regional manager with Morton Salt. His lifelong passion was raising cattle and ranching. He loved golfing until his health prevented him from playing.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gerry Farnsworth, of the home; a daughter, Tonya McKiever of Bella Vista, Ark.; a son, Greg Farnsworth (David Pucek) of Dallas; granddaugh­ter, Colli McKiever (Patrick Amico) of Las Vegas; a great-granddaugh­ter, Ashlin Gross of Las Vegas; a brother, John Farnsworth of Anson; a sister, Eva Sage of Dallas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Services were Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anton.

Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.

The memorial service was Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, in the auditorium of Presbyteri­an Village North in Dallas, followed by a reception in the library.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
