The annual Yard and Bake Sale is presented by the Disciples Women of Highland Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Baked goods are available each day. Items will include household goods, décor, games, sporting goods, gardening items, books, children’s items, toys, jewelry, men and women’s accessorie­s, books, tapes, music, crafts, etc. Come early and stay late.

Butler Creek Auction Gallery will be the scene of a Huge Fundraiser/ Auction from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This auction will benefit “Mirror Images,” an educationa­l program looking deep within one’s self for the truth to discover the plan for your life. The 10th Annual NWA Emergency Preparedne­ss Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bentonvill­e, 1101 McCollum Dr. Enjoy live, interactiv­e presentati­ons, classes by led by experts, Junior Ranger activities and the hands-on educationa­l children’s area. Admission and lunch are free. Also take part in the Walk-In Red Cross Blood Drive from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, or from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Bella Vista Post 341 American Legion Auxiliary presents an End of Summer old-fashioned picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bella Vista American Legion Post, on U.S. Highway 71 at Kingsland Road. The Post will serve hot dogs, chips, watermelon, ice cream and drinks. Donations will be accepted. Bring neighbors, kids, friends and family. Everyone is welcome. No membership required.

Monday, Sept. 26

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogic­al Society will meet at 6 p.m. at the Bentonvill­e Public Library, 405 S. Main St. Monte Harris from the Rogers Historical Museum will present the program “Women of the Loom,” telling the stories of the 1860s handwoven coverlets now in the museum collection. Harris has been in charge of the Museum’s Adult Education Program for 18 years. Her job also includes oral histories, bus tours and special local history programs for schools. The Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit will be held at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers. More than 40 industry-leading speakers in the field of technology, education, engineerin­g, business, transporta­tion, health care, innovation, and corporate enterprise will be presenting. The keynote speakers are former Microsoft COO Kevin Turner and Dr. John Cohn with IBM. Speakers from AT&T, Digimarc, Gartner, Garver, IBM, Intel, Metova, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Oracle, Rockfish, Microsoft and Teradata are part of an all-star line-up.
