The Hill ’N Dale Hiking Club of Bella Vista will hike Fossil Flats at Devil’s Den State Park on Wednesday, Oct. 12. This will be a moderate 4-mile hike. Members will meet at 8 a.m. at the upper level parking area at Harps in Bella Vista to car pool to Devil’s Den. Bring a sack lunch to eat in the park. Non-members are invited.

Bella Vista Traveling Sams

The Bella Vista Traveling Sams met in Grove, Okla. Sept 23-25, for the Area 1 Friendship Campout. Nine rigs attended plus we welcomed visitors Richard and Margie Cooper. Election of officers for next year was held and installati­on will take place in December. The Bell Point Sams, The Jolly Rogers and the Bella Vista Traveling Sams met for this yearly meeting. The group enjoyed touring the Newell RV plant in Miami, Okla., and the rest of the time was spent eating, visiting and playing games. The next meeting will be the annual clean up at Devil’s Den State Park, Oct. 23-26.

Beta Sigma Phi

The Iota Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the home of Shirley Sheets. The service project will be a cash donation to the Bella Vista Boys and Girls Club. The social event for the month is the annual Fall Tea, a gathering of all four Bella Vista Beta Sigma Phi chapters. The tea will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church at the corner of Cooper Road and Arkansas Highway 279.

Beta Sigma Phi

The Laureate Alpha Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will host the 4 Bella Vista Chapters for a “Tea for All Seasons” at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12, at the United Lutheran Church. Anne Burke, of Bella Vista, will present the program “Our Now Season.” Guests will enjoy an Afternoon Tea of appetizers, savory snacks and desserts. A drawing for nine unique baskets, each representi­ng a different season, will be held at the end of the event.

St. Bernard Women’s Club

St. Bernard Women’s Club Social Afternoon will be held on Thursday, Oct.13. Bring games and the club will provide the tables, beverages and snacks. Those attending can use the club’s crazy canasta and bridge cards/tallies. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and play runs until 4 p.m. in the Church Hall. Admission is $1 per person. Funds are distribute­d to local charities. Spend an afternoon socializin­g, see old friends and make new ones. Bring a snack to share with the group. We welcome singles, doubles and full tables, experience­d players and those who want to learn a new game; crazy canasta, Texas and Samba. Let the club know what you’d like to play or learn. The club has a place for bridge players. New to Bella Vista and need to find some card playing friends? The club can always use extra players.

Bella Vista Computer Club

Combating identity theft and fraud will be the presentati­on topic at the 7 p.m. meeting of the Bella Vista Computer Club on Monday, Oct.10. Mike Whited from Arvest Bank will present the program. This public meeting is in the Community Room of Highlands Crossing Center (lower level), 1801 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista.

Open House help clinics will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 5 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 8 and 19. Help clinics are a free service for computer club members. Using Computers with Windows 10 parts 1, 2 and 3 classes will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 11, 18 and 25.

Bella Vista Women’s Chorus

Bella Vista Women’s Chorus invites singers from the area to join them. All are welcome with no tryouts or experience needed. Directed by Dr. Larry Zehring, BVWC performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local clubs and events. Rehearsals are at 12:45 p.m. on Mondays in the music room of the Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. The chorus is available to sing for clubs and organizati­ons.

Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Riordan Hall. Bob Loyd will be calling. There will be a plus workshop at 6:30 p.m. prior to the dance. All square dancers are invited to join. Lessons are being scheduled for the first part of the year for those wanting to learn square dancing.

Bella Vista Bike Club

The Bella Vista Bike Club is an informal group of cyclists who enjoy riding together. The only rule is that helmets are required on all rides. Ladies Day Out

Bella Vista AARP Chapter 109

Bella Vista Chapter 109 of AARP will be hosting a board meeting and general meeting on Friday, Oct. 7. The board meeting will be at 2:30 p.m. and the general meeting will convene at 4 p.m. in the Community Room on the lower level of the Highlands Crossing Building, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd., near the intersecti­on of Arkansas Highway 340 and 279 in Bella Vista. Bella Vista Needlework Club

The Bella Vista Needlework Club meets at 10 a.m. every Monday morning at Riordan Hall. The group includes those who knit, crochet, cross-stitch, weave, quilt or do various kinds of needlework. There is plenty of room, large tables and light. Those without a POA photo ID card will need to pay $2.25 at the desk. The annual group fee is $2. Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus

Effective immediatel­y, the Pride of the Ozarks Chorus will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Arkansas Arts Academy High School, 506 W. Poplar St., Rogers. Pride of the Ozarks is a member of the Society for the Preservati­on and Encouragem­ent of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, also known as the Barbershop Harmony Society. Pride of the Ozarks is an all male a cappella singing organizati­on which enriches lives through singing. All male singers of good character are welcome to join.

Woodcarver­s Club

The Woodcarver­s Club now has a booth at the Bella Vista Farmers Market on Mercy Drive in the west parking lot on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by and check out the carvings. The Bella Vista Woodcarver­s Club meets Thursday’s from 1 to 3 p.m. at Riordan Hall. Guests are welcome, and new members are accepted for a nominal yearly fee. Bella Vista has some very talented carvers and wood burners willing to teach anyone the art of carving or wood burning. The group is a nonprofit organizati­on.

Northwest Arkansas Coin Club

The Northwest Arkansas Coin Club meets from 6 to 9:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Embassy Suites Hotel at exit 83 off I-49 in Rogers. It is seeking collectors of coins and currency to join for fun and entertainm­ent each month.

Village Art Club

The Village Art Club meets at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Wishing Spring Gallery on McNelly Road. Each month one of the exhibitors from the Gallery discusses the process and product they show and sell at the Wishing Spring Gallery, which is sponsored by the Art Club.

Each fall the VAC also sponsors the Bella Vista Arts and Crafts Festival, and the proceeds go to fund art scholarshi­ps and grants at local elementary schools to further Arts and Education. The meeting is open to the public and informatio­n regarding membership is available at the meeting. All are welcome.

Bass Club

The Bass Club is seeking new members.This catch-and-release bass-fishing club holds monthly draw tournament­s on Bella Vista’s two largest lakes from March through November. The club promotes a friendly environmen­t for anglers of all ages. They fish a team format with boaters and non-boaters paired together, weigh in a five-fish bag limit, and receive the same points for the position in which they finish.

The club meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Dr., Bella Vista.

Bella Vista Decorative Artists

The Bella Vista Decorative Artists chapter meets the second Saturday at Wishing Spring Gallery Studio, 8862 West McNelly Road, Bentonvill­e (behind Walgreens). The meetings are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include a business meeting and painting session. The chapter goal is to stimulate interest and appreciati­on for the art of painting. All skill levels are welcome.
