Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

Members of the church will gather at Highland Healthcare and Rehab at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, for a sing-a-long with the residents. Everyone is welcome to visit and sing with the participan­ts.

Men’s Fellowship will meet at 8 a.m. in Fellowship Hall Saturday, Oct. 15, for breakfast. Please sign up at the Informatio­n Center. The cost is $5 plus a canned food item for Helping Hands Food Pantry.

Church members will be volunteeri­ng at Helping Hands in Bentonvill­e on Saturday, Oct. 15. Please sign up at the Informatio­n Center for shift times beginning at 8 a.m.

The community is invited to Traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

The third Sunday of each month, funds are collected for the Cents-Ability Hunger Program sponsored by the Presbyteri­an Women. The collection container is located in the connector hallway.

Presbyteri­an Women will hold their potluck Fall luncheon at noon Friday, Oct. 21, in Fellowship Hall. Please sign up at the Informatio­n Center and invite a guest.

New Wine Ministry

Come and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacle­s hosted by Pastors Vincent and Patricia Xavier and New Wine Ministry, 2262 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1622. The meeting on Oct. 22 will be at 5:30. There will be guest speakers at all meetings. On Sunday, Oct. 23, and Monday, Oct. 24, the 6:30 gatherings will be at the Word of Life Christian Center, 808 S.W. 14th St., Bentonvill­e. Internatio­nal evangelist Mario Murillo will speak, and Jason Fowler will bring an anointed gift of music and worship.

There will be morning gatherings at the ARK, 8030 LaCroix Road, Decatur, at 9:30 a.m. for Worship and Word. Lunch will be served.

The regular services will resume at 5:30 p.m Saturday, Oct. 8, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, with Pastor Vincent Xavier bringing the Word. Pastor Patricia Xavier leads a roundtable discussion and a teaching on deliveranc­e on Thursdays at 7 p.m.

Unitarian Universali­sts

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County are located at 1110 S.E. Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonvill­e, near the southeast corner of Southeast 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Oct. 16, Karen Taymore, a certified clinical nurse specialist in adult psychiatri­c mental health, will give a talk titled, “Tips for Maintainin­g Respectful Communicat­ion When Discussing Political Viewpoints.”

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book “Spirit Play” is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Oct. 12, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. At 6:20, there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults. Activities will also be held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Thursday, Oct. 13, a Bible study on the book of Matthew taught by Dr. Ron Morris will meet at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome, and newcomers may join the study at any time.

Sunday, Oct. 16, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll will begin a new sermon series titled “The Beginning and the End: Lessons from Genesis.” This week’s sermon title is “God’s Man: Noah” with a text of Genesis 6:1-22. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, Oct. 18, a Ladies’ Bible Study titled “Prayer: Essential to a Fruitful Christian Life,” written and led by Joanne Morris, will be held at 9 a.m. Women from the community are welcome to attend. Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Wednesday, Oct. 12, choir practice starts at 4 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 15, Disciples Men Fellowship will meet at Duffers for breakfast. Then they will visit the Beam home to look at Charles’ extensive train collection.

Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and is followed at 10 by the morning service. The Rev. Paul Seal will present “We Thirst for Right Ways of Living” with text from Matthew 25:35. A regular potluck fellowship meal will follow the morning service.

United Lutheran Church

The church will host a Dave Anderson and Roger Walck concert, a blend of contempora­ry, gospel, hymns and old-time Sunday school songs. The concert starts at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. The free-will offering received at the concert will benefit the Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat ministry.

Adult Bible class is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Sundays. Sunday Worship Service begins at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Karen Fowler-Lindemulde­r. Youth Sunday School starts at 10:45.

St. Bernard Church

Mass is 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Daily Mass is 8:30 a.m on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday Mass is at 5 p.m. All are welcome to celebrate the liturgy of the Holy Eucharist with them.

At 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays, there will be a discussion group, “Get Ready for the Gospel,” that helps prepare you for the upcoming Sunday readings. They meet in room 203 in the parish hall.

RCIA classes (adult education) are held at 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the parish hall. Come and learn more about the Catholic Faith.

The Men’s Club will host an Octoberfes­t Dinner in the parish hall Saturday, Oct. 15. Call the church to reserve a spot.

Highlands Church

The Highlands Church Fall Festival will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. There will be lots of fun activities, costume contest, bouncy house, games, candy and more. Everyone is welcome.

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class meets from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Sunday. Visitors are welcome.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Guest Mike Moline, a missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translator­s USA, will be preaching Sunday, Oct. 16. Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m. A staffed nursery is available as well as children’s worship for ages 4-12.

The community is invited every Wednesday to the church chapel from 11 a.m. to noon as the church prays for unity in the country, for first responders, and for the leaders. Come as you are, and attend as it fits your schedule.

Caregivers’ (All) Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the parlor.

Hope Happen Here Cancer Support Group will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in the parlor.

The community is invited to the church’s Gospel Sing Along at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the sanctuary.

Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. “James: Faith that Works” is the title of the new message series. New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered in all three services. This includes a high-energy worship and large group time, followed by small group lessons.

New Life Students offers separate programmin­g for teens. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will meet for “Emerge” from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. “Engage” is designed especially for ninth- through 12th-graders, and they gather on Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Any teen in the community is welcome to attend.

Sister2Sis­ter Game and Fellowship Night will be held in the church Atrium at 6:30 pm. Friday, Oct. 21. Ladies of all ages are welcome.

The Men’s Ministry will host the monthly gathering on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Dink’s BBQ in Bentonvill­e.

New Life Christian will host a Trunk or Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, on the church parking lots for all children and families.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Come at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, as guest speaker Shelly Wilson presents “Messengers From Spirit.” Stay after the service for refreshmen­ts and fellowship. Prayer Team meets after the service at 12:15 in the sanctuary, holding in prayer those who have requested prayer support as well as a vision to assist in manifestin­g peace for our world.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Grief Share, a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experience­s, meets at 3 p.m. Tuesdays in the church conference room.

Wednesdays, the Evening Meal begins at 4:45 p.m. Children’s choirs meet at 5:30. The Wednesday Evening Prayer meeting is held at 5:45 in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m., and AWANA meets at 6:15.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, is studying the book of Romans.
