St. Bernard Women’s Club

St. Bernard Women’s Club Social Afternoon will be held on Thursday, Oct.13. Bring your games and the club will provide the tables, beverages and snacks. You may use our crazy canasta and bridge cards/tallies. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and play runs until 4 p.m. in the Church Hall. Admission is $1 per person. Funds are distribute­d to local charities. Spend an afternoon socializin­g, see old friends and make new ones. Bring a snack to share with the group. We welcome singles, doubles and full tables, experience­d players and those who want to learn a new game — crazy canasta, Texas and Samba. Let us know what you’d like to play or learn. There is a place for Bridge players if you let us know who you are. New to Bella Vista and need to find some card playing friends? We can always use extra players, come join us.

The Bella Vista Traveling Sams met in Grove, Okla., Sept 23-25, for the Area 1 Friendship Campout. Nine rigs attended plus we welcomed visitors Richard and Margie Cooper. Election of officers for next year was held and installati­on will take place in December. The Bell Point Sams, The Jolly Rogers and the Bella Vista Traveling Sams met for this yearly meeting. The group enjoyed touring the Newell RV plant in Miami, Okla., and the rest of the time was spent eating, visiting and playing games. The next meeting will be the annual clean up at Devil’s Den State Park, Oct 23-26.

Beta Sigma Phi

The Iota Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the home of Shirley Sheets. The service project

will be a cash donation to the Bella Vista Boys and Girls Club. The social event for the month is the annual Fall Tea, a gathering of all four Bella Vista Beta Sigma Phi chapters. The tea will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church at the corner of Cooper Road and Arkansas Highway 279.

Beta Sigma Phi

The Laureate Alpha Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will host the four Bella Vista Chapters for a “Tea for All Seasons” at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12, at the United Lutheran Church. Anne Burke, of Bella Vista, will present the program “Our Now Season.” Guests will enjoy an Afternoon Tea of appetizers, savory dishes and desserts. A drawing for nine unique baskets, each representi­ng a different season, will be held at the end of the event.

Sunrise Rotary Club

The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club has a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. every Wednesday at Concordia Retirement Center, 1 Concordia Dr., Bella Vista. On Wednesday, Oct. 19, Joan Glubczynsk­i, director of recreation and wellness for the POA, will be the speaker.
