The Bella Vista Bike Club is an informal group of cyclists who enjoy riding together. The only rule is that helmets are required on all rides. Club members come in a wide variety of ages and skill levels. The monthly ride calendar can be found at bellavistabikeclub.com. The bike club is active year-round and may be addictive and beneficial to your health.

Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus
Pride of the Ozarks Chorus will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Arkansas Arts Academy High School, 506 W. Poplar St., Rogers. Pride of the Ozarks is a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, also known as the Barbershop Harmony Society. Pride of the Ozarks is an all-male a cappella singing organization which enriches lives through singing. All male singers of good character are welcome to join.

Church Women United
Church Women United will present the “World Community Day” celebration Friday, Nov. 4 at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 a.m. The theme, “Sharing Gifts at the Table” will feature a variety of table settings, music and scripture. Pastor Dawn Donato, from Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bentonville, will talk about “Canopy,” an organization working to place refuges coming to northwest Arkansas. A silent auction will be held with proceeds going to local agencies.
World Community Day is an ecumenical celebration and all women are invited to attend.

The Bella Vista Women’s Golf Club’s “Bye Bye Birdie” fall brunch will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Bella Vista Community Church. The cost is $10 per person, which should be received by Oct. 20. For the registration form, go to the BVWGC web site at www. bvwgc.com.

Bella Vista VFW Post 9063 will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. The meeting will be held in the Conference Room at Mercy Hospital, 1 Mercy Way, Bella Vista.
Calico Cut-Ups
The Calico Cut-Ups Quilt Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 24, in Becker Hall of the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Dr., Bella Vista. There will be a free workshop before the 1 p.m. meeting on pumpkin decorations and tote bags. Those coming should bring machines, cutting tools and small cutting mats. The class will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Supply list is for pumpkins, a 9-inch by 18-inch piece of fabric (or larger), and Fiberfill for stuffing and embellishments. The tote bags will be given to a local children’s charity. Supplies will be available. People wishing to make their own should bring one yard of fabric, three-fourths of a yard of lining fabric (a solid color), pellon fusible iron on (three-quarters of an inch by 26.15 inches).
Speaker for October will be Jennifer Todd talking about fabric weaving. She is owner of “The Quilted Cow” near Branson, Mo., just a few minutes from Silver Dollar City. She offers a full schedule of quilting classes, BOM programs and other events to meet a variety of quilting needs. She will also be the club’s vendor this month.
The Fat Quarter drawing will be Christmas. Donations to the Shepherd’s Food Pantry at Bella Vista Lutheran Church will be cans of cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin, evaporated milk.
