Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

An Adult Study Group meets in the parlor at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. All are welcome.

Presbyteri­an Women will hold their potluck Fall Luncheon at noon Friday, Oct. 21, in Fellowship Hall. Sign up at the Informatio­n Center and invite a guest.

The community is invited to Traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

The third Sunday of each month, funds are collected for the Cents-Ability Hunger Program sponsored by the Presbyteri­an Women. The collection container is located in the connector hallway.

Food items are collected for the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Bentonvill­e the fourth Sunday of each month. This month, the requested food items are canned fruit and canned sweet potatoes, although any food items and monetary donations would be appreciate­d. The table for placing donations is in the connector hallway.

Members of the church will be assisting with a worship service at Concordia Care Center at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, and again at Village House 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24. All are welcome to worship and visit with the participan­ts at both locations.

Sweaters and light-weight jackets are again being collected for the Salvation Army to give to needy recipients at Christmas time. A box is located in the connector hallway for clean, gently worn sweaters and jackets.

New Wine Ministry

Come and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacle­s hosted by Pastors Vincent and Patricia Xavier and New Wine Ministry, 2262 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1622. The meeting on Oct. 22 will be at 5:30. There will be guest speakers at all meetings. On Sunday, Oct. 23, and Monday, Oct. 24, the 6:30 gatherings will be at the Word of Life Christian Center, 808 S.W. 14th St., Bentonvill­e. Internatio­nal evangelist Mario Murillo will speak, and Jason Fowler will bring an anointed gift of music and worship.

Morning gatherings at the ARK, 8030 LaCroix Road, Decatur, at 9:30 a.m. for Worship and Word. Lunch will be served.

The regular services will resumed at 5:30 p.m Saturday, Oct. 8, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, with Pastor Vincent Xavier bringing the Word. Pastor Patricia Xavier leads a roundtable discussion and a teaching on deliveranc­e on Thursdays at 7 p.m.

New Wine Ministry is non-denominati­onal with a mission of perfecting the Body of Christ in all richness of giving, kindness, talents, and resources. Pastor Vincent teaches biblical prophecy, preparing people and warning a nation. It is located behind the Boys and Girls Club and the Funeral Home. Call 1-858-864-8712.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. At 6:20, there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults. Activities will also be held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Thursday, a Bible study on the book of Matthew taught by Dr. Ron Morris will meet at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome, and newcomers may join the study at any time.

Sunday, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled “The Beginning and the End: Lessons from Genesis.” This week’s sermon title is “A Promise is a Promise” with a text of Genesis 12:1-4. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, a Ladies’ Bible Study

titled “Prayer: Essential to a Fruitful Christian Life,” written and led by Joanne Morris, will be held at 9 a.m. Women from the community are welcome to attend. A free study guide will be provided. A ladies’ KniTTogeth­er ministry and the White Cross Women’s Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

“Dinner and Movie” night starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. Starting with a kid-friendly meal, this event is for the entire family with an emphasis on age 3 through sixth grade. A play area will be provided for small children.

The Sonshiners will meet at 9 a.m. and again at Highland Rehab at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. Ladies Marathon Bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.

There will be only one worship service Sunday, Oct. 30 — 9 a.m.

Trunk or Treat at Bella Vista Lutheran Church will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are now collecting items for the Thanksgivi­ng Basket. Monetary donations are welcome to help pay for the turkeys and roasting chickens.

United Lutheran Church

Adult Bible class is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Sundays. Sunday Worship Service begins at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Karen Fowler-Lindemulde­r. Youth Sunday School starts at 10:45.

Highlands United Methodist Women Games Day is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. Entrance is a $12 donation per person. Highlands Church Fall Festival will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. There will be lots of fun activities, costume contest, bouncy house, games, candy and more. All church members, friends, family and the public are welcome.

A Veteran’s Day program, “Thankful for the USA,” will be performed by students from Monitor Elementary School in Springdale at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the church. Please come join them as they honor America’s veterans.

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class meets from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Sunday. JAM class will be doing a six-week study entitled “The Trouble with the Truth” from Nov. 6 to Dec 18. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Wednesday, Oct. 19, there will be a Bible study at 10 a.m. Choir practice starts at 4 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 20, the Hamm Radio Club meeting will be on storm spotting.

Sunday, the elders meet at 8:30 a.m. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and is followed at 10 by the morning service. The Rev. Paul Seal will present “Strangers Looking for a Home” with text from Matthew 25:35.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday. Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m. A staffed nursery is available as well as children’s worship for ages 4-12.

The community is invited every Wednesday to the church chapel from 11 a.m. to noon as the church prays for unity in the country, for first responders, and for the leaders. Come as you are, and attend as it fits your schedule.

Prayer Fellowship meets at 9:15 a.m. every Wednesday in the conference room.

St. Bernard Church

Mass is 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Daily Mass is 8:30 a.m on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday Mass is at 5 p.m. All are welcome to celebrate the liturgy of the Holy Eucharist with them.

At 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays, there will be a discussion group, “Get Ready for the Gospel,” that helps prepare you for the upcoming Sunday readings. They meet in room 203 in the Parish Hall.

RCIA classes (adult education) are held at 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the parish hall. Come and learn more about the Catholic Faith.

$1,000 Jackpot Bingo will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. Doors open at 5:45.

St. Bernard Women’s Club will hold the 29th annual Holiday Bazaar (Return of the Penguins) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Parish Hall. Cinnamon rolls, homemade chili and chicken noodle soup, sandwiches and homemade pies will be served. Find many handmade items (table runners, advent wreaths, their famous penguins, etc.), boutique items and stocking stuffers. They will raffle a Fitbit and several handmade treasures.

Forest Hills Church welcomes people of all faiths to worship this Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Retired pastor Mark Kirby will deliver his sermon, “Storm Preparatio­n” from Zephaniah 1:14-18. The adult Sunday School class begins at 9:45 a.m. and the Prayer and Bible Study is led by Mark Kirby on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Come at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, as guest speaker The Rev. Elise Cowan presents “There’s a Mouse in the House.” Stay after the service for refreshmen­ts and fellowship. Prayer Team meets after the service at 12:15 p.m. in the sanctuary, holding in prayer those who have requested prayer support as well as a vision to assist in manifestin­g peace for our world.

The Rev. Cowan will be presenting the workshop “Jesus: Separating History From Myth” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct, 22.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. contempora­ry worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School, 11 a.m. traditiona­l worship and 5 p.m. evening worship in the old sanctuary.

Wednesdays, the Evening Meal begins at 4:45 p.m. Children’s choirs meet at 5:30. The Wednesday Evening Prayer meeting is held at 5:45 in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m., and AWANA meets at 6:15.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, is studying the book of Romans.

Senior Adult Fun Day is at 1 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. Bring your favorite snack, your favorite game, and join us for fun and fellowship.

The Senior Adult Ministries hosts “Ice Cream and a Movie” at 6 p.m. the fourth Friday of the month. All adults are welcome.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. “James: Faith that Works” is the title of the new message series. New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered in all three services. This includes a high-energy worship and large group time, followed by small group lessons.

New Life Students offers separate programmin­g for teens. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will meet for “Emerge” from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. “Engage” is designed especially for ninth- through 12th-graders, and they gather on Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Any teen in the community is welcome to attend.

Sister2Sis­ter Game and Fellowship Night will be held in the church Atrium at 6:30 pm. Friday, Oct. 21. Ladies of all ages are welcome.

The Men’s Ministry will host the monthly gathering on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Dink’s BBQ in Bentonvill­e.

Side By Side Senior Single Ladies will take a trip to see the fall foliage in Eureka Springs on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The group will carpool from the church at 9:30 a.m. Anyone interested is going can call the church office at 479-855-1616.
