Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

Members of Church Women United will gather for World Community Day at United Lutheran Church on Friday, Nov. 4. Refreshmen­ts will be served at 9:30 a.m. followed by a program at 1o a.m.

The community is invited to a traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

A Stewardshi­p Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in Fellowship Hall. Sign up at the Informatio­n Center and come to learn about next year’s plans.

The Missions Committee of the church will be collecting canned food items for Helping Hands to put together Thanksgivi­ng food boxes for their clients. A list of needed items is located at the informatio­n center. Donations may be placed in the designated box in the connector hallway by Nov. 15.

Sweaters and light-weight jackets are again being collected for the Salvation Army to give to needy recipients at Christmas time. A box is located in the connector hallway for clean, gently worn sweaters and jackets.

St. Bernard Church

St. Bernard Women’s Club will hold the 29th annual Holiday Bazaar (Return of the Penguins) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Parish Hall. Cinnamon rolls, homemade chili and chicken noodle soup, sandwiches and homemade pies will be served. Find many handmade items (table runners, advent wreaths, their famous penguins, etc.), boutique items and stocking stuffers. They will raffle a Fitbit and several handmade treasures.

The Teen Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser is after the 5 p.m. Mass Saturday, Nov. 12. Tickets are on sale in the office.

Youth Education classes are held from 10:30 a.m to noon Sundays. Call the office for more details.

Rosary Makers Guild meets at 9 a.m. every Wednesday in Room 203. RCIA classes (adult education) are held at 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the parish hall. Come and learn more about the Catholic Faith.

At 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays, there will be a discussion group, “Get Ready for the Gospel,” that helps prepare you for the upcoming Sunday readings. They meet in room 203 in the Parish Hall.

Our Lady of Refuge Prayer Group meets at 9 a.m. on Fridays in the chapel.

Mass is 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Daily Mass is 8:30 a.m on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday Mass is at 5 p.m. All are welcome to celebrate the liturgy of the Holy Eucharist with them.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

The Men’s Disciplesh­ip Class is held every Monday at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Please park in the back parking lot and enter the lower level.

After a loss of a loved one, friends and family often want to help but don’t know how. For that reason, Grief Share is held at 6 p.m. every Wednesday in the church library. Call Dorothy Jones at 479-3661700 if you have questions.

Choir rehearsals are at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are now collecting items for the Thanksgivi­ng bag. Monetary donations are welcome to help pay for the turkeys and roasting chickens. A container for your donations is in the church narthex.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. At 6:20, there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults. Activities will also be held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Thursday, a Bible study on the book of Matthew taught by Dr. Ron Morris will meet at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome, and newcomers may join the study at any time.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, a bonfire and hayride is planned. There will be roasted marshmallo­ws and s’mores. Bring a flashlight for the hayride. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather.

Sunday, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll will

begin his sermon series titled “Five Essential Character Qualities for Christians.” This week’s sermon title is “Bodybuildi­ng Love” with a text of 1 Cor. 13:1-13. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, a Ladies’ Bible Study titled “Prayer: Essential to a Fruitful Christian Life,” written and led by Joanne Morris, will be held at 9 a.m. Women from the community are welcome to attend. A free study guide will be provided. Call the church office for more informatio­n. At 7 p.m. a men’s Bible study led by Dr. Ron Morris will meet. A ladies’ KniTTogeth­er ministry and the White Cross Women’s Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m.

Unitarian Universali­sts

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County meet at 1110 S.E. Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonvill­e, near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Nov. 6, the Rev. Tom Simota, who has been exploring the many aspects of the esoteric tradition and ancient wisdom since 1993, will give a homily titled, “The Joy of a Grateful Heart.”

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book “Spirit Play” is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Wednesday, there will be a Bible study at 10 a.m. Choir practice starts at 4 p.m.

Church Women United will meet at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Rd., at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4. Pastor Dawn Donato will be present “Canopy: Bringing Refugees to Northwest Arkansas.” Also on Friday, the Keller Shepherd Group will meet in the fellowship hall at noon.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, George and Helen Lowe will be celebratin­g their 80th birthdays with an open house in the fellowship hall.

Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and is followed at 10:30 by the morning service. Smith and Lowe Shepherd Groups will meet in the fellowship hall for lunch and fellowship at noon.

United Lutheran Church

Adult Bible class is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Sundays. Sunday Worship Service begins at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Karen Fowler-Lindemulde­r. Youth Sunday School starts at 10:45.

United in Prayer meets at 3 p.m. every Monday. All are welcome.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday. Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m. A staffed nursery is available as well as children’s worship for ages 4-12.

The community is invited every Wednesday to the church chapel from 11 a.m. to noon as the church prays for unity in the country, for first responders, and for the leaders. Come as you are, and attend as it fits your schedule.

Growing Through Grief Group will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in the parlor.

Caregivers (All) Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the parlor.

Prayer Fellowship meets at 9:15 a.m. every Wednesday in the conference room.

Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community from 9 a.m. to noon each Wednesday in the nurse’s office.

Highlands Church

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class meets from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Sunday. JAM class will be doing a six-week study entitled “The Trouble with the Truth” from Nov. 6 to Dec. 18. Everyone is welcome to attend.

A Veteran’s Day program, “Thankful for the USA,” will be performed by students from Monitor Elementary School in Springdale at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the church. Please come join them as America’s veterans are honored.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Come at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, as guest speaker Mike Mondl presents “Knock, Knock.” Stay after the service for refreshmen­ts and fellowship. Prayer Team meets after the service at 12:15 p.m. in the sanctuary, holding in prayer those who have requested prayer support as well as a vision to assist in manifestin­g peace for our world.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. “James: Faith that Works” is the title of the new message series. New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered in all three services. This includes a high-energy worship and large group time, followed by small group lessons.

New Life Students offers separate programmin­g for teens. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will meet for “Emerge” from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. “Engage” is designed especially for ninththrou­gh 12th-graders, who gather on Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Any teen in the community is welcome

The CaringHear­ts Ministry will hold food drives Nov. 6, 13 and 20 to help stock the shelves of Bella Vista’s food banks, The Oasis and Shepherd’s Pantry.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. contempora­ry worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School, 11 a.m. traditiona­l worship and 5 p.m. evening worship in the old sanctuary.

Wednesdays, the Evening Meal begins at 4:45 p.m. Children’s choirs meet at 5:30. The Wednesday Evening Prayer meeting is held at 5:45 in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m., and AWANA meets at 6:15.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, is studying the book of Romans.

Senior Adult Fun Day is at 1 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. Bring your favorite snack, your favorite game, and come for fun and fellowship.

The Senior Adult Ministries hosts “Ice Cream and a Movie” at 6 p.m. the fourth Friday of the month. All adults are welcome.

The church is planning a trip to the ARK Encounter and the Creation Museum April 26-29 at a cost of $375 per person (includes travel on a charter bus, double-occupancy hotel room for three nights, and tickets to both attraction­s). For more details, contact the church office.
