Presbyteri­an Church

A Stewardshi­p Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in Fellowship Hall. Sign up at the Informatio­n Center and come to learn about next year’s plans.

The community is invited to a traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

A church dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, and then the third Tuesday of each month thereafter in the fellowship hall. Pastor Liz will lead an informal worship service followed by dinner together. All food will be prepared by a volunteer committee, and a free-will offering will be received to cover the cost of the meal. Please sign up at the informatio­n center and invite some friends.

The Missions Committee of the church will be collecting canned food items for Helping Hands to put together Thanksgivi­ng food boxes for their clients. A list of needed items is located at the informatio­n center. Donations may be placed in the designated box in the connector hallway by Nov. 15.

An Adult Study Group meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the parlor. The Book Club will follow with their monthly gathering at 11 a.m. in the parlor.

Sweaters and light-weight jackets are again being collected for the Salvation Army to give to needy recipients at Christmas time. A box is located in the connector hallway for clean, gently worn sweaters and jackets.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

The Backpacker­s meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.

Bella Vista Lutheran will present a Christmas concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. They are now rehearsing on Saturdays at 10 a.m. for this concert.

Helping Hands now has their Christmas area open. They were able to help 5,113 people during August.

The Men’s Bible class meets every Monday at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Please park in the back parking lot and enter the lower level.

The Quilters meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. The Friendly Stitchers meet at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are now collecting items for the Thanksgivi­ng bag. Monetary donations are welcome to help pay for the turkeys and roasting chickens. A container for your donations is in the church narthex.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast at 12:30 p.m. every Sunday over radio station KURM-FM (100.3).

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. At 6:20, there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults. Activities will also be held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available, and the community is invited.

Thursday, a Bible study on the book of Matthew taught by Dr. Ron Morris will meet at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome, and newcomers may join the study at any time.

Sunday, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll will begin his sermon series titled “Five Essential Character Qualities for Christians.” This week’s sermon title is “Other-edifying Humility” with a text of James 4:1-10. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

Tuesday, a Ladies’ Bible Study titled “Prayer: Essential to a Fruitful Christian Life,” written and led by Joanne Morris, will be held at 9 a.m. Women from the community are welcome to attend. A free study guide will be provided.

The church’s annual Christmas program, at 6 p.m. Sunday Dec. 11, will feature the Christmas cantata “A Noel Celebratio­n,” followed by a pie dessert fellowship.

Highland Christian (Disciples of Christ)

Choir practice will be held in the sanctuary at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Saturday, Nov. 12., Disciple Women will be meeting to share fellowship, refreshmen­ts and the lesson “Under the Shelter of my Roof,” led by Carmen Doane at 10 a.m. Also on Saturday, the church will have their first Christmas Make and Take. From 1 to 3 p.m., create your very own Christmas ornaments with family and friends. Supplies and refreshmen­ts will be provided for $6 per person. All ages are welcome.

On Sunday, Sunday School and Creative Worship for Children’s ministry start at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., come for refreshmen­ts in the fellowship hall before church service. At 10:30 a.m., the morning service will begin. Pastor Paul Seal will be ministerin­g the Word.

At noon, the Loch Shepard Group will meet in the fellowship hall for lunch and fellowship.
