Bella Vista Woodcarver­s Club

The Woodcarver­s Club meets Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at Riordan Hall. Guests are welcome, and new members are accepted for a nominal yearly fee. Bella Vista has some very talented carvers and wood burners willing to teach anyone the art of carving or wood burning. The group is a nonprofit organizati­on.

Bella Vista Women’s Chorus

Do you love to sing? Bella Vista Women’s Chorus invites singers from the area to join them. All are welcome with no tryouts or experience needed. Directed by Dr. Larry Zehring, BVWC performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local

clubs and events. The chorus rehearses Mondays at 12:45 p.m. in the music room of the Bella Vista First United Methodist Church.

Fitness Classes

Fit Blast is a high-energy, high-intensity interval-style workout that will challenge your body. Personal trainer and fitness expert Carrie Hatfield utilizes techniques like cardio blasts and muscle confusion to assure that you’ll gain a new level of fitness and achievemen­t. They are currently offered from 6-6:30 a.m. Mondays at Riordan Hall; 6-6:45 p.m. Tuesdays at the Metfield Clubhouse; and 6-6:45 p.m. Thursdays at Riordan Hall.

Power Yoga is a 50-minute class lead by fitness instructor Lucy Quarti that emphasizes the mindbody connection for improved physical, emotional and spiritual levels. Attention will be placed on improved breathing, circulatio­n and energy, encouragin­g your body’s ability to burn calories – which, combined with proper nutrition, may enhance weight loss. Classes are at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays at the Metfield Clubhouse. Bring a yoga mat and water.

Hill ’N Dale Hiking Club

Hill ’N Dale Hiking Club of Bella Vista will hike in the White Rock Mountain Recreation Area, near Winslow, on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

This will be an easy 3-plus miles of hiking with added hikes likely after lunch.

Meet at 8 a.m. at the upper level parking area at Harps in Bella Vista to car pool. Bring a sack lunch to eat in the park. Non members are invited.

Kansas Sunflower Club

The Kansas Sunflower Club will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Highland Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. They will play bingo, and everyone will bring one bingo gift. Play is over when all the gifts have been given.

There will not be a meeting in December. The next meeting will take place Monday, Jan. 23.

The club will continue with $3 pizza, drinks, and everyone bringing a salad or dessert for potluck.

All former Kansas residents are invited to the meetings on the fourth Monday of each month. There are no dues.

Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance at Riordan Hall on Monday, Nov. 28, 7 p.m. Kenton Sullivan will be calling. There will also be a plus workshop at 6:30 p.m. prior to the dance. All square dancers are invited to join in.

Local Writers Group

The Village on the Lakes Writers and Poets, a local writers group, meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Artist Retreat Center in Old Bella Vista. Bring writing to share.

The group will have a writers’ workshop with Eureka Springs artist and author Zeek Taylor. He will be sharing his writing experience­s and his new book, “Out of the Delta: A Collection of Short Stories.”

Northwest Arkansas Coin Club

The Northwest Arkansas Coin Club meets from 6 to 9:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Embassy Suites Hotel at exit 83 off I-49 in Rogers. It is seeking collectors of coins and currency to join for fun and entertainm­ent each month.

Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus

Pride of the Ozarks Chorus will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Arkansas Arts Academy High School, 506 W. Poplar St., in Rogers. Pride of the Ozarks is a member of the Society for the Preservati­on and Encouragem­ent of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, also known as the Barbershop Harmony Society. Pride of the Ozarks is an all-male a cappella singing organizati­on which enriches lives through singing. All male singers of good character are welcome to join.

Sunrise Rotary Club

The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club has a breakfast meeting every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Concordia Main Building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista.

On Wednesday, Nov. 30, Mayor Peter Christie will present an update on the city of Bella Vista.

Village Art Club

The Village Art Club meets at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Wishing Spring Gallery on McNelly Road. Each month one of the exhibitors from the gallery discusses the process and product they show and sell at the Wishing Spring Gallery, which is sponsored by the Art Club.

Each fall, the VAC also sponsors the Bella Vista Arts and Crafts Festival, and the proceeds go to fund art scholarshi­ps and grants at local elementary schools to further Arts and Education. The meeting is open to the public and informatio­n regarding membership is available at the meeting. All are welcome.
