Presbyteri­an Church

Thanksgivi­ng worship will be held at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 24, in the sanctuary. A Thanksgivi­ng dinner will follow in Fellowship Hall. Sign up at the Informatio­n Center and bring a potluck dish to share. Meat will be provided. Stay following dinner for fellowship and game participat­ion.

The church office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of Thanksgivi­ng.

The community is invited to a traditiona­l worship service at 10 a.m. for the First Sunday in Advent. Christian Ed classes meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

Sweaters and light-weight jackets are again being collected for the Salvation Army to give to needy recipients at Christmast­ime. A box is located in the connector hallway for clean, gently worn sweaters and jackets.

New Wine Ministry

God has stirred the fires of revival as internatio­nal evangelist and speaker Mario Murillo will return to Northwest Arkansas Dec. 10-11 for meetings being held at the Word of Life Christian Center, 808 S.W. 14th St., Bentonvill­e. Pastor Bill Rogers is hosting the meetings along with Pastors Vincent Xavier of New Wine Ministry and Kin Maddox of GateWay Church in Fayettevil­le. There will be healing ministries taking place.

New Wine Ministry is on the regular schedule of meetings taking place at 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sunday afternoons. Pastor Vincent Xavier brings the word at these meetings.

Pastor Patricia Xavier leads a roundtable teaching and discussion on deliveranc­e every Thursday at 7 p.m.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Thanksgivi­ng Day Worship service is at 10 a.m. All are welcome to this special worship service.

Bella Vista Lutheran will present the Christmas concert, “Joy, Joy, Joy,” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. They are now rehearsing on Saturdays at 10 a.m. for this concert.

The Men’s Bible class meets every Monday at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Please park in the back parking lot and enter the lower level.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday The pantry will not be open Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgivi­ng. The pantry is collecting items to be given during December for Christmas. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast at 12:30 p.m. every Sunday over radio station KURM-FM (100.3).

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday Morning Services include 8:30 a.m. contempora­ry worship, 9:45 a.m. Bible Study/Sunday School, 11 a.m. traditiona­l worship and 5 p.m. evening worship in the old sanctuary.

There will be no evening services Wednesday, Nov. 23. Regular Wednesday services will resume Wednesday, Nov. 30. Wednesdays, the evening meal begins at 4:45

p.m. Children’s choirs meet at 5:30. The Wednesday Evening Prayer meeting is held at 5:45 in the old sanctuary. There are youth activities Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m., and AWANA meets at 6:15.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast, every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, is studying the book of Romans.

Senior Adult Fun Day is at 1 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. Bring a favorite snack, a favorite game, and come for fun and fellowship.

The Senior Adult Ministries hosts “Ice Cream and a Movie” at 6 p.m. the fourth Friday of the month. All adults are welcome.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Nov. 23, Oasis Food Pantry will be closed for the Thanksgivi­ng holiday, and there will be no Wednesday evening activities at the church.

Sunday, Growth Group classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. A guest speaker will be teaching from the first chapter of the book of Ruth. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well.

The church’s annual Christmas program, at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11, will feature the Christmas cantata “A Noel Celebratio­n,” followed by a pie dessert fellowship. The community is invited to attend.

Highland Christian (Disciples of Christ)

Bible Study is at 10 a.m. Wednesday and choir practice is at 4 p.m.

Bella Vista Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee

Tickets for the 3 p.m. seating for the annual Christmas Tea will be available for purchase before and after this Sunday’s service. The cost per ticket is $10. The Tea will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3. Ticket sales will continue during the week Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community from 9 a.m. to noon each Wednesday in the nurse’s office.

Forest Hills Church

Forest Hills Church welcomes people of all faiths to worship this Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Pastor Mark Kirby will deliver his sermon, “M&M: A Holiday Lesson” from Luke 10:3842. The adult Sunday School class begins at 9:45 a.m. and the Prayer and Bible Study is led by Mark Kirby on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. “James: Faith that Works” is the title of the new message series. New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered in all three services. This includes a high-energy worship and large group time,

followed by small group lessons.

New Life Students offers separate programmin­g for teens. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will meet for “Emerge” from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. “Engage” is designed especially for ninththrou­gh 12th-graders, who gather on Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Any teen in the community is welcome to attend.

Unitarian Universali­sts

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County meet at 1110 S.E. Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonvill­e, near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday School is available for children through age 15. A Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book “Spirit Play” is the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

St. Bernard Church

Wednesday at 9 a.m., the Rosary Makers will meet in room 203 in the parish hall. RCIA classes (adult education) are held every at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in the parish hall.

The Bible study “Infancy Narratives” will be offered at 7 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Nov. 29. This four-week study focuses on the connection between the Old and New Testaments and the birth of Jesus. All are welcome. Call the office to sign up.

Shoebox Ministry has scheduled its annual Christmas shoebox assembly day for 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1. The goal is to fill 100 men’s and 100 women’s boxes with the necessary items plus a gift item, because it is Christmas. The box will be gift wrapped and delivered to the Methodist Church by Monday, Dec. 5. They boxes will then be distribute­d to 13 different shelters between here and Fayettevil­le.

Tuesday, Dec. 6, there will be a Day of Recollecti­on presented by Decon Al Genna. Mass will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the presentati­on will follow Mass at 9:30 am. Reconcilia­tion will be held at 1 p.m. in the church.

Beautiful, religious Christmas cards will be on sale after Saturday and Sunday Masses. The purpose of Christmas is to remember and celebrate the birth of Christ by keeping Christ in Christmas. When purchasing Christmas cards, keep in mind the reason for the season — the birth of Christ. This event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Mass is 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Daily Mass is 8:30 a.m on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday Mass is at 5 p.m. All are welcome to celebrate the liturgy of the Holy Eucharist with them.

Highlands Church

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class meets from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The 28th Annual Cookie Walk is Saturday, Dec. 3. Doors open at 8 a.m. The “walk” begins at 8:30 and lasts until 11, or until all the cookies are gone. Price for each decorated can is $12 (limit eight cans per customer). Also visit the Sweet Shoppe to buy other tasty items, the Coffee Shoppe for a sweet roll and coffee, or the Craft Shoppe to purchase holiday gifts. Members of the choir will sing Christmas music. The money raised goes to local and regional charities.

Planning Ahead Series presents “Preparing Quick, Tasty, Healthy Food.” Come sample and learn. The program will be presented by Chef Kathy Dederich from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6. Call the church office for more informatio­n. Admission is one non-perishable food item.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Come at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker John Joseph Ray presents “Gratitude Attitude: Thanksgivi­ng Without the Indigestio­n and Stress.” Monthly Potluck Sunday takes place after the service. Bring a dish and enjoy the great food and fellowship. After the potluck the congregant­s are invited to help decorate the Sanctuary and Center for the Christmas season.

Wednesday evening discussion centers around a short, spirituall­y focused passage, which participan­ts share. A 20-minute meditation follows promptly at 7 p.m.
