The annual Valentine’s Day Dance featuring The Bella Vista Big Band starts at 7:30 p.m. at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Road, in Bella Vista. Come and dance to ballroom, swing and Latin music. The Bella Vista Historical Museum will be hosting a program at 2 p.m. by Pat and Mark Kirby about their Fairy Lamp collection, a special exhibit of antique glass candle holders on display through the end of February. Wednesday, Feb. 15

The University of Arkansas Inspiratio­nal Chorale will perform a selection of civil rights songs ranging from Billie Holiday to John Legend at noon at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Murdock, the mission of the Chorale is to keep the black sacred music tradition alive. The museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Ave., in downtown Springdale. Saturday, Feb. 18

Students from Springdale’s Helen Tyson Middle School Environmen­tal and Spatial Technology program will demonstrat­e how 3D printing, virtual reality and other modern technologi­es can bring history to life from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. The program is part of the museum’s Third Saturday series for families. The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Ave., in downtown Springdale.

Sunday, Feb. 19

Another Hot Stove League meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at the Bella Vista Historical Museum. Roger Scoles of Bella Vista will share stories from his early 1950s minor league baseball days. All fans are welcome to participat­e in this winter chit-chat about baseball “around the hot stove.” The museum is located at U.S. Highway 71 and Kingsland Road, next door to the American Legion. Saturday, Feb. 25

The Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club will host the 14th annual Great NWA Model Train Show at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Kids (and kids at heart) can be the engineer as miniature locomotive­s chug around the tracks on elaboratel­y designed layouts. All types of model trains, from large garden trains to trains small enough to run on a coffee table, will be on display. Collectors can shop for new and vintage toy trains and parts from more than 40 vendors. Hot dogs, popcorn and other treats will also be for sale. Door prizes will be given away, including two round-trip tickets on the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad. Admission is just $8 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Bring a nonperisha­ble food item to receive $1 off admission. All proceeds go to local charities, including Samaritan Snackpacks for Kids, the Children’s Advocacy Center, Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army Angel Tree and Shelter, Havenwood Home, Hope Cancer Resources/Washington Regional Cancer and Support Home, Cancer Relay for Life and the Bella Vista Library. The Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club and Historical Society is a nonprofit organizati­on. All work is done by volunteers. The club operates events to raise money for local charities and creates model train displays for various museums and organizati­ons, including Frisco Fest, the Gravette Historical Museum, Rogers Historical Museum and the Nomad Shriners.
