Wednesday, Feb. 15

The University of Arkansas Inspiratio­nal Chorale will perform a selection of civil rights songs ranging from Billie Holiday to John Legend at noon at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Murdock, the mission of the Chorale is to keep the black sacred music tradition alive. The museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Ave., in downtown Springdale. Thursday, Feb. 16

The Third Thursday House Concert at the Artist Retreat Center, 13467 Lookout Drive, Bella Vista, will feature John Henry & Friends. John Henry and Brennan Johnson are the founding members. Their high level of passion for music shows in every song they write and every performanc­e they give. John Henry tells stories like an old soul combined with a voice just as soulful. You are drawn into every sorrow and every triumph and left hanging onto every word. Additional­ly, the picking contest held every year at Hillberry is known as “John Henry’s Pickin’ Contest.” These guys can play. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the cost is $10 (cash at the door).

Friday, Feb. 17

Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will be having their Third Friday benefit dinner starting at 4:30 p.m. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature chicken and noodles, salad, vegetable, potatoes, gravy, rolls, dessert and drinks. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under is requested. Everyone is welcome, and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerston­e Bank in Pineville, Mo.

Saturday, Feb. 18

The Willard E. “Rocky” Glidewell American Legion Post 341 of Bella Vista will host the American Legion Rider’s meeting at 10 a.m. The Post is located at 1889 Bella Vista Way. Members remind the public of the $6 all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Breakfast includes pancakes, French toast, ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. The Artist Retreat Center’s Saturday Night Concert features Pete Jive. Performing live since 2002, Pete Jive has been spreading the message of self-affirmatio­n and compassion throughout the greater Chicagolan­d area. Jive provides a feel-good show every time, diffusing positivity and spreading good vibrations nightly to their rapidly growing fan base. His first LP, “No Sign of Regret,” was released June 2011. This record features elements of traditiona­l American folk music, roots reggae and rock ‘n’ roll, which have shaped Jive’s sound and direction from the start. Tickets are $10 (cash at the door). Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Students from Springdale’s Helen Tyson Middle School Environmen­tal and Spatial Technology program will demonstrat­e how 3D printing, virtual reality and other modern technologi­es can bring history to life from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. The program is part of the museum’s Third Saturday series for families. The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Ave., in downtown Springdale.

Sunday, Feb. 19

Another Hot Stove League meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at the Bella Vista Historical Museum. Roger Scoles and Gary Grosnickel will share stories from their 1940s and 1950s minor league baseball days.
