Registrati­on is ongoing until space is full for the 2017 Bella Vista Garden Club Spring Benefit Card and Game party, which will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, March 17, at United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista located at the corner of Cooper Road at Forest Hills Blvd. Register by going to bellavista­gardenclub.com and clicking on the “register here” link on the home page. The cost is $12 per person and includes a fabulous lunch.

Homesteade­rs

The Bella Vista Homesteade­rs will gather at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Concordia of Bella Vista. Amber Lacewell from the Women’s Shelter will present the program.

Ozark Pastel Society

The quarterly meeting of the Ozark Pastel Society will be held Saturday, March 18, at the Rogers Public Library at 711 Dixieland Road, Rogers. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m., and a free pastel demonstrat­ion in florals will be given by artist Susan Edgmon from 10 a.m. until noon. All members and anyone interested in the art medium of pastels is encouraged to attend.

Iota Alpha Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi

The Iota Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at the Bella Vista home of Judy Freytag at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8. Iota Alpha will celebrate its 10th birthday this month. The service project for March is a donation to the Village House. A garden tour on March 29 is this month’s social.

Photograph­y Club

The Bella Vista/Bentonvill­e Photograph­y Club met Feb. 21 at Hometown Bank in Jane, Mo., for the regular monthly meeting. President Doug Keck presented the program “Long Exposures,” with tips on camera settings and lighting for shooting light trails, lightning, fireworks, the moon, ghost images, waterfalls, etc. According to Keck, long exposures involve using a long duration shutter speed to sharply capture the stationary elements of images while blurring, smearing, or obscuring the moving elements.

The winner of the February digital contest on “Freezing Motion” was Rebecca Brubaker. Second place went to Natalie Roller and third place to John White. The March digital contest is “Long Exposures.”

The group meets at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday each month.

Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance at Riordan Hall at 7 p.m. Monday, March 6. This will be the club’s Mardi Gras Dance and Grant Roth will be the caller. Lessons will be held at 5:45 p.m. just prior to the dance.

Hill ’N Dale Hiking Club

Hill ’N Dale Hiking Club of Bella Vista will hike in J.B. Hunt Park in Springdale on Thursday, March 9. The Park and Spring Creek Spur Trail are 3-4 miles of easy hiking (partially paved). Meet at the upper level parking area of Harps in Bella Vista for 8:30 a.m. departure. Carpool to the park. Nonmembers are invited.

Bass Club

The Bass Club is a catch-andrelease bass-fishing club that holds monthly draw tournament­s on Bella Vista’s two largest lakes from March through November. The club promotes a friendly environmen­t for anglers of all ages. They fish a team format with boaters and non-boaters paired together, weigh in a five-fish bag limit, and receive the same points for the position in which they finish.

The club meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Dr., Bella Vista.

Bike Club

The Bella Vista Bike Club is an informal group of road cyclists who enjoy riding together. Their only rule is that helmets are required on all rides. Club members come in a wide variety of ages and skill levels. The monthly ride calendar can be found at bellavista­bikeclub.com. The bike club is active year round and may be addictive and beneficial to your health.

Decorative Artists

The Bella Vista Decorative Artists chapter meets the second Saturday at Wishing Spring Gallery Studio, 8862 W. McNelly Road, Bentonvill­e (behind Walgreen’s). The meetings are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include a business meeting and painting session. The chapter goal is to stimulate interest and appreciati­on for the art of painting. All skill levels are welcome.

Needlework Club

The Bella Vista Needlework Club meets at 10 a.m. every Monday morning at Riordan Hall. The group includes those who knit, crochet, cross-stitch, weave, quilt or do various kinds of needlework. There is plenty of room, large tables and light.

Those without a POA photo ID card will need to pay $2.25 at the desk. The annual group fee is $2. The first Monday of each month the club has a meeting and refreshmen­ts.

Woodcarver­s Club

The Woodcarver­s Club meets Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at Riordan Hall. Guests are welcome, and new members are accepted for a nominal yearly fee. Bella Vista has some very talented carvers and wood burners willing to teach anyone the art of carving or wood burning. The group is a nonprofit organizati­on.

Women’s Chorus

Do you love to sing? Bella Vista Women’s Chorus invites singers from the tri-county area to join them. All are welcome with no tryouts or experience needed. They perform classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local clubs and events. Rehearsals are at 12:45 p.m. Mondays in the music room of Bella Vista First United Methodist Church.

Local Writers Group

The Village on the Lakes Writers and Poets, a local writers group, meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Artist Retreat Center in Old Bella Vista. Bring writing to share.

Northwest Arkansas Coin Club

The Northwest Arkansas Coin Club meets from 6 to 9:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Embassy Suites Hotel at exit 83 off I-49 in Rogers. It is seeking collectors of coins and currency to join for fun and entertainm­ent each month.

Perfect Harmony Women’s Barbershop

Perfect Harmony Women’s Barbershop Chorus meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. every Monday in the choir room of the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista. No previous experience or tryouts are required. Join this chorus for a fun and rewarding genre of singing.
