Lutheran Church

Ash Wednesday is on March 1 with worship at 6 p.m.

The “Inquirer’s Class,” a new Sunday morning class that introduces people to Christiani­ty, Lutheranis­m and the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, meets with Pastor Hass at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday in the conference room.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. The pantry is in need of peanut butter. In addition, any $5 coupon from Dollar General will be used for hygiene products. A con- tainer for your donations is in the church narthex.

Presbyteri­an Church

Worship on Ash Wednesday, March 1, will be held at noon with Holy Communion being served.

A new Lenten Study will commence at 2 p.m Thursday, March 2, and continue for six weeks. The study books are $12 each, so please sign up at the Informatio­n Center if you are interested in participat­ing.

The community is invited to a traditiona­l worship service Sunday at 10 a.m. Christian Education classes for all ages meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available. New friends are always welcome.

Lenten Soup Suppers begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in Fel- lowship Hall. Please sign up at the Informatio­n Center.

New Wine Ministry

Everyone is welcome to the New Wine Ministry services every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. as Pastor Vincent Xavier ministers the Word. There will be coffee fellowship before and after the services.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers.

At 6:30 p.m., there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Sunday, the Rev. Elise Cowan presents “Beginning Our Lenten Journey.”

A new Sunday morning Meditation Practices class takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. weekly to discuss the benefits of meditation, use of mantras, guided meditation, walking meditation, using the five senses and other practices.

United Lutheran Church

Piecemaker­s, a group that meets every Thursday at 9 a.m., make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. There are also tasks for those who do not sew, so please come join the fellowship.

Community Church

Come for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday. Adult Bible Study starts at 8 a.m. A staffed nursery is available as well as children’s worship for ages 4-12.

All are welcome to come for Lenten Meditation­s and soup supper every Wednesday from March 1 until April 5. Soup supper is from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. in McKay Hall, and Lenten Meditation follows in the sanctuary from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The cost of the supper is $3 per person and $5 per family. Wednesday night activities include 6 p.m. pizza and 6:30 p.m. Bible study for children and youth.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community from 9 a.m. to noon each Wednesday in the nurse’s office.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

Knights of Columbus officers will have a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in the library.

The Knights of Columbus will hold their annual Lenten Fish Fries on March 3, March 24 and April 7. The menu will be catfish, potato salad, coleslaw, hush puppies and dessert. Tickets are required and may be purchased before and after Saturday and Sunday Mass and at the church office. The cost is $10 per person. The doors will be open at 5 p.m. for a social hour, and at 6 p.m. serving begins.

Mass is 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. on Sundays. Daily Mass is 8:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday Mass is at 5 p.m.

Forest Hills Church

New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers three Sunday services: 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. The title of the new message series is “Identity Crises: Do You Know Who You Are?” New Life Kids programmin­g for children birth through fifth grade is offered in all three services.

First United Methodist Church

To help keep some of those New Year’s Resolution­s, a new group — Healthy Living — is gathering from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays in Becker Hall. If possible, bring a healthy snack to share, maybe a new recipe and ideas of what you would like to include in discussion­s.
