With opening day less than a month away, things are moving fast at Lakepoint Restaurants and Events Center.

Tommy Lee, director of business development for the Property Owners Association, told the Marketing Committee that the Lakepoint project is on time and people are booking events in 2018. Some of the restaurant staff, including an executive chef, are already working. The contractors are expecting to be done by mid-April, with plenty of time for the grand opening on April 29.

During Monday’s committee meeting, Marketing Manager Kim Carlson said they are still advertising for wait staff and a signing bonus will be available.

Lee said work will begin in the restaurant area of the Country Club by mid-April.

General Manager Tom Judson told the committee that he is finalizing phase two of the wayfinding signs with the city. The next set of signs will be installed on the east side pointing the way to some of the trail heads and Metfield Park.

Carlson reported on the “Play More, Pay Less” campaign which has been extended through the end of 2017. The campaign offers members who pay an annual fee unlimited use of specific amenities. Golf, pools, fitness centers and the shooting range have an annual fee available. With the new program, the second annual fee is half price. More than 70 members have taken advantage of it, she said. Several members have signed up for three amenities, she said.

Phillip Wright, director of Golf Operations, said the annual KFSM Golf Card program is going well. There will be 350 cards sold for discounted golf and the proceeds are split between the television station and the POA. In addition, the POA gets free publicity every time the cards are advertised.

He’s working on GolfFest, which takes place April 15.
