Membership Drive
The Friends of Bella Vista Library are holding their annual membership drive. Throughout March, a Friend will be at the front of the library. Memberships are $10 for an individual and $25 for a family. All new members get a 50-percent-off coupon for Encore Books.
Bella Vista Traveling Library
The Bella Vista Public Library has a home-bound delivery service. The library will provide materials to any resident of Bella Vista who is confined to their home or convalescent center due to illness, injury or disability. Anyone interested in this service can call the library at 479-855-1753 or email program coordinator Argie Willis at awillis@bellavistaar.gov.
Author Visit
Arkansas author Sara Daniell will be at the library at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 15, to host a writing workshop with teens as well as holding a book signing. Attendees will be entered in a giveaway to win both books in Ms. Daniell’s Stockbridge Series.
Poetry Class
This class is designed to showcase the power of poetry and teach young minds how to concoct their own poetic verses. The class is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. Ages 8-13. Register for this event at the front desk or at bvpl.org.
Young Readers
This children’s book club is perfect for readers in grades 3-5. They meet at 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of the month and are always excited to welcome new members.
Knitters and Crocheters
Knitter and crocheter wannabes are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Novices will be guided by experienced knitters and crocheters. Participants may bring their current projects or start a new one. Attendees must bring their own supplies.
Foreign Policy Group
Members are sought for a monthly foreign policy discussion group that will meet at the library. The group will choose topics from “The Great Decisions” publication available at fpa.org. For more information, call Bob and Nancy Brown, 479-855-3729, or Mike Stenson, 479-855-0299.
Color My World
This creative and relaxing event is a way to unwind. Adult coloring is a great way to relieve stress. Color My World meets at 1 p.m. every Wednesday.
Silly Songs and Stories
Silly Songs and Stories story time meets at 10 a.m. every Friday. Bring a preschooler for stories and crafts. Be sure to come this week to listen to a good story.
Legomania
Every first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m., children are invited to come and build with Legos at the library. We’ll provide the Legos; you just bring your creativity!
Freegal Music
The library now has Freegal Music. This service, available through the library website, allows patrons to listen to and download music for free. Using a library card, patrons can access this cool, new service. Patrons can stream three hours of music each day and can download three songs a week that they can keep.
Mobile App
The Bella Vista Public Library now has an app! Easily look up books, events, and other library info right from the palm of your hand! Download BVPL Mobile for Apple and Android devices.
Exhibits
March’s displays are provided by Jo Bain. Anyone interested in displaying a collection, should contact Rebecca at 479-8551753.
Floral Arrangement
March’s floral arrangement was designed and provided by Mary Lou Frost of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.
Hours of Operation
Regular library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard, (Arkansas Hgihway 340 east of Town Center, turn at the Bella Vista Baptist Church) at 11 Dickens Place.
