St. Bernard Catholic Church

A night with the NWA Naturals is planned for Saturday, June 10, at Arvest Ball Park. The premium seats are behind the third-base dugout. Tailgating will be in the grassy southwest sections of the parking lot for those who wish to socialize before the game starting at 4 p.m. The tickets are $9 each and checks must be made out to Russ Anzalone no later than Sunday June 4.

Men of St. Bernard parish and guest of men are invited to attend a three-day silent retreat at the White House Retreat Center located outside of St. Louis. The retreat is a silent retreat conducted by a retreat director using the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. All participan­ts are assigned private rooms with showers. If you are interested in attending, call one of the following: Chuck fiber, Hank Schlapkohl, or Jerry Ponder.

Registrati­ons are now being accepted for Search #142, a retreat to help juniors and seniors in high school get to know themselves better, deepen their friendship with Christ, and find support in living out their faith. Search #142 will be held at the 4-H Center in Little Rock, June 23-25. The fee is $130 and the early registrati­on deadline is June 1.

Jan Stemkoski’s Celebratio­n Singers, an internatio­nally known Christian music ministry, will present a communityw­ide concert at 7 p.m. June 30 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. The concert is free (a free-will offering will be taken). Concert attendees will be treated to contempora­ry Christian music, uplifting praise and worship, personal testimony and prayer. Featuring 10 singers and a 12 piece orchestra, the celebrants will inspire and bless as they share the gospel through a dynamic musical celebratio­n.

Daily morning Mass is celebrated on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:30 a.m.

There is an evening Mass on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. Mass is celebrated on Saturdays (Sunday vigil) at 5 p.m. and on Sundays at 9 a.m.

United Lutheran Church

The orchestra will practice at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31. The choir will practice at 7 p.m.

Thursday, June 1, the exercise group meets at 8 a.m.

Piecemaker­s meets every Thursday at 9 a.m. They make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. There are tasks for non-sewers also. Chancel Bell will practice at 3:15 p.m.

Now that constructi­on is complete on House No. 5, we can go take a look at “God’s Work — Our Hands.” Workers will start on No. 6 very soon and when that is done they will stop building homes. They can have nine children in each home and they are treated as families. They also have a preschool there now and a school bus takes the other children to school every day. There is lots of room for the kids to run around and play outdoors and there is a garden. So, please don’t forget to save all Best Choice labels again this year (can get them at Allens and Harps grocery stores) and Marge Taylor gets “lots of them” at the Recycling Center in Bella Vista, so “thanks to her.”

New Wine Ministry

Plans are being made to celebrate the centurion birthday of “Mr. B” — Frank Bianchi. He will turn 100 on June 25 after overcoming the hardships of life and brought to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

New Wine Ministry meets at 5:30 p.m. every Saturday and at 2 p.m. every Sunday. Pastor Vincent Xavier ministers the Word, with Ken and Peggy Wagner leading the worship. There will be coffee fellowship before and after each service.

Pastor Patricia Xavier leads a study on spiritual warfare and deliveranc­e held at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the same location. The study is based on her book “Deliveranc­e – The Christian’s Bill of Rights.”

Women of Substance meets at 2:30 the first Saturday of every month. A buffet luncheon is served which is followed by one of the women of the church giving her testimony.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

New Sunday class begins June 4-25 with adult classes 9-10 a.m. “How to Pray” is designed to cover the five-step Unity prayer method teaching the difference between traditiona­l prayer and Unity’s affirmativ­e prayer.

A new Wednesday Night Study starts at 7 p.m. June 7 studying Bryon Katie’s “The Work: Loving What Is.” This will teach a powerful process of self-inquiry.

The monthly potluck takes place after the service. Bring a dish and share the fellowship of a welcoming community.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

A mission at the church known as Stamped With A Prayer makes hand-made cards the first Wednesday of each month. This month their mission just gave $1,000 to the Bella Vista Fire Department for meals for the firefighte­rs. The cards are $2.50 each and 100 percent of the purchase goes to the mission. They also remake pre-owned hand-made cards to give to nursing homes and other groups.

Five times a year they go to

Brookfield Assisted Living and make pre-designed cards with the residents.

The Men’s Disciplesh­ip Class will not meet until June 12.

The Shepherd’s Food pantry is open each Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers are asking for donations of bar soap, flour, oil, sugar or the funds to purchase these items. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

Those unable to attend a Sunday morning worship service, Bella Vista Lutheran Church at 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., has a Saturday night service at 5:37 p.m. This is a relaxed, casual worship experience with contempora­ry music.

Unitarian Universali­sts

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County meet at 1110 SE Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonvill­e near the southeast corner of 14th and J Streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday June 4, the Rev. Jim Parrish, Unitarian Universali­st Fellowship of Fayettevil­le, will give a homily titled, “UU, Our History of Reformatio­n Has Caught Up with Us.”

Sunday School is available for children with a Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book, “Spirit Play” as the primary resource. The morning is structured based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Highland Christian Church (The Happening Place) meets for worship with communion at 10:30 each Sunday.

All Seniors are invited to Neosho National Fish Hatchery Senior Citizen Day June 9. The fishing will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon. Those attending will be allowed to catch and keep four trout. Volunteers will clean and bag the fish and put them on ice — all compliment­ary. All fishing equipment will be provided by the Fish Hatchery, no personal fishing equipment will be allowed in the hatchery. After the fishing is over lunch will be provided by the hatchery. Village Bible Church

Wednesday, May 31, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of our friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing, devotions and prayer in the Worship Center. The community is always welcome. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available.

Friday, June 2, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will have a BLOOD DRIVE at the church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held in the Oasis Food Pantry Center. Call the church at 479-876-5764 to sign-up to donate blood, or simply stop by on Friday.

Sunday, June 4, Sunday School classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service, with communion. Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled “Life Applicatio­n from Romans.” This week’s sermon title is “Israel and God’s Sovereignt­y” with a text of Romans 9:1-33. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well, and the community is always warmly welcomed.

Tuesday, June 6, at 7 p.m. a men’s Bible study will meet in the Fellowship Hall — men from the community are always welcome. A ladies’ KniTTogeth­er ministry and the White Cross Women’s Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m. The ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in our area as well as a hospital in Congo. These are open to any ladies who would like to come and learn more about these ministries.

First United Methodist Church

The Bella Vista Women’s Chorus meets each Monday from 12:45 to 3 p.m. in the church Music Room. This group performs a variety of music in concerts throughout the year and is open to any woman in the community who enjoys singing.

The Bella Vista Men’s Chorus meets each Monday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the Music Room. This group is open to any man in the community who enjoys singing. The Men’s Chorus performs a variety of music concerts throughout the year.

Friends Plus Healthy Living meets at 9 a.m. Wednesdays at Lake Bella Vista in the parking lot along U.S. Highway 71 to walk for about an hour. Different groups walk at different paces while sharing in fellowship and encouragem­ent. About 10:30 a.m. meet in the Chapel to share tips on making healthier lifestyle choices, and encourage and uplift one another.

Children’s Summer Program is 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting Service starts at 6 p.m. now through summer months in the old sanctuary. Youth Activities begin at 6 p.m.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast is every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. The group is currently studying the book of Romans.

The Senior Adult Fun Day is the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. Bring a favorite snack and a favorite game, and join for fun and fellowship. The Senior Adult Ministries hosts Ice Cream and a Movie the fourth Friday of the month, at 6 p.m. All adults are welcome.
