We have a Summer Reading Book Club for adults every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. through the end of the Summer Reading Program on July 13. This very casual group will get together to meet other participan­ts in the program and share the books they have been reading.

Come to the library and see an amazing science show with Super Science. Join us at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22.

Cupcake Wars Teen Night

Cupcakes Wars is coming to the Bella Vista Public Library at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 23. Bring your culinary creativity to win this battle of baked goods. Plain cupcakes will be provided for your decoration. Do you have what it takes to emerge as the champion?

Rocket Languages

We offer Rocket Languages through our website. This language learning service offers online courses for 15 languages. All you need is a library card to access it.

Silly Songs and Stories

Silly Songs and Stories is every Friday morning at 10 a.m. Bring your preschoole­rs and join this fun group for stories and crafts.

Summer Speaker Series: Earthquake­s in our Region

Curious about all of the earthquake­s we’ve had lately? Chris Moyer, professor of geology at Northwest Arkansas Community College, will be here at 6 p.m. Monday, July 3, to discuss the geology and earthquake­s in the region.

Weather Wonders with Dan Skoff

KNWA Meteorolog­ist Dan Skoff will be here at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the Bella Vista Public Library to discuss some of the amazing technologi­cal advancemen­ts in the field of weather.

Knitters and Crocheters

Knitters and crocheters are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques every Tuesday from 1 until 3 p.m. Beginners will be guided by experience­d knitters and crocheters. Bring your current projects or start a new one. Please provide your own supplies.

Check Out a Kindle

Kindle Paperwhite­s and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with several books and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff for the check-out agreement and procedure.

Freegal Music

The library has Freegal Music. This service, available through our website, allows our patrons to listen to and download music for free. Using your library card you can access this service.

BVPL Mobile

The Bella Vista Public Library now has an app. Easily look up books, events, and other library info right from the palm of your hand. Download BVPL Mobile for Apple and Android devices.

Bella Vista Library is on Facebook. Click on the Facebook icon on our website, www.bvpl.org, and “Like” us today. It’s a great way to keep up with all the events at the library. Encore Books

The Friends of the Library’s used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children’s books, paperbacks, biographie­s, health and wellness topics, and much, much more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

Floral Arrangemen­ts

June’s floral arrangemen­t was designed and provided by Marilyn Roche of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

June’s displays are provided by Pat Kirby. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Hours of Operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m Monday-Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m.5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard (Arkansas Highway 340 East, turn at the Bella Vista Baptist Church) as 11 Dickens Place.
