Village Bible Church

Wednesday, June 28, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers. There will be no Wednesday evening activities at the church this week other than the 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. Vacation Bible School.

Sunday, July 2, Sunday School classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service, with communion. Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled “Life Applicatio­n from Romans.” This week’s sermon title is “Christian Living: Sacrificia­l Service” with a text of Romans 12:1-8. Infant and toddler nursery and Children’s Church for kids are offered as well, and the community is always warmly welcomed.

Tuesday, July 4, the church will participat­e in the 10 a.m. annual Bella Vista Patriots 4th of July Celebratio­n Parade at Sugar Creek Shopping Center.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Sunday morning schedule — Contempora­ry worship is at 8:30 a.m.; Bible study/Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.; traditiona­l worship at 11 a.m. Sunday evening service is at 5 p.m. in the old sanctuary.

Operation Arctic — Vacation Bible School — is June 26-30 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. titled “Exploring The Coolest Book on the Planet.” Register on the website or by calling the church office at 479-855-3748.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast is every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The group is currently studying the Book of Proverbs.

Children’s Summer Program is 6-8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting Service starts at 6 p.m. now through the summer months in the old sanctuary. Youth activities begin at 6 p.m.

The Senior Adult Ministries hosts ice cream and a movie the fourth Friday of the month at 6 p.m. All adults are welcome.

St. Theodore Episcopal Church

Join the congregati­on for worship and celebratio­n of the Holy Eucharist on Sunday morning at St. Theodore. There are two services of the Holy Eucharist Rite I at 8 a.m. and Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 a.m. Coffee fellowship takes place after the 10:30 a.m. service.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

St. Bernard Vacation Bible School will be held July 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon. All families and faiths are welcome. Children age 3 through sixth-grade will have age appropriat­e activities. Jan Stemkoski’s Celebratio­n Singers, an internatio­nally known Christian music ministry, will present a community wide concert on June 30 at 7 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church. The concert is free of charge (a free-will offering will be taken). Concert attendees will be treated to contempora­ry Christian music, uplifting praise and worship, personal testimony and prayer. Featuring 10 singers and a 12-piece orchestra, the Celebratio­n Singers will inspire and bless as they share the gospel through a dynamic musical celebratio­n. Come to r this wonderful evening of music, faith and fun. Bring a friend or two.

St. Bernard will have a parish 4th of July party in the Parish Hall on Saturday, July 1. On Wednesday, July 5, at 7 p.m. there will be a Knights of Columbus Officers meeting in the library.,

Daily morning Mass is celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. There is an evening Mass at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. Mass is celebrated at 5 p.m. Saturdays (Sunday vigil) and at 9 a.m. Sundays.

Highlands Church

Sunday worship time has changed to 9:30 a.m. JAM Sunday school class meets every Sunday at 8:15 a.m. in the Mark classroom. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Little Pantry needs your help. Organizers are running low on stock again for the Little Pantry. Donors are blessing so many with the pantry that organizers are asking for canned goods, toiletries and other items. A list of possible donations is located in the narthex.

To keep the church looking beautiful, we are looking for 10 volunteers to take a small section of the church grounds and commit to cleaning it 1-2 hours every month. Please contact Betty Wehner if interested.

New Wine Ministry

New Wine Ministry meets every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Pastor Vincent Xavier ministers the Word, with Ken and Peggy Wagner leading the worship. There will be coffee fellowship before and after each service.

A Bible study is held in Decatur at 7 p.m. every Wednesday. Call for location.

Pastor Patricia Xavier leads a study on spiritual warfare and deliveranc­e held at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the same location. The study is based on her book “Deliveranc­e — The Christian’s Bill of Rights.”

Women of Substance meets at 2:30 p.m. the first Saturday of every month. A buffet luncheon is served which is followed by one of the women of the church giving her testimony.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on radio station KURM-FM (100.3) and radio station KURM-AM (790).

The Bella Vista Lutheran Choir has been invited to sing the National Anthem at the Naturals baseball game on June 30.

The Men’s Disciplesh­ip Class meets on Mondays at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Park in the rear parking lot and enter the lower level.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open every Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are in need of peanut butter and jelly and bar soap. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

Unitarian Universali­sts

Sunday School is available for children with a Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book, “Spirit Play” as the primary resource. We structure the morning based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County meet at 1110 S.E. Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonvill­e near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Highland Christian Church

Highland Christian Church (The Happening Place) meets for worship with communion at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday school classes start at 9 a.m. offering three adult studies and “Creative Worship” for youth. Coffee fellowship is 10-10:30 a.m.

A bus trip to Branson to Sight & Sound Theatre to see “Moses” is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 12. The bus will leave the church at 8 a.m. Lunch is at Montana Mike's at 11 a.m., the backstage tour at 1 p.m. and the “Moses” production is at 3:30 p.m. Dinner is at McFarland’s at 6:30 p.m., with arrival back at the church by 9:30 p.m. The cost is $100 -$110 per person, depending on the number of participan­ts. July Wednesday Night’s Study is held 7-8:30 p.m. and studies Bryon Katie’s “The Work: Loving What Is.” This is a powerful process of stepby-step self-inquiry that helps by identify, question and heal the thoughts that limit or cause pain. This sets the ability to be free of stressful beliefs and fear based stories about life, other people and self.

Unity Church Social Action Group created 50 bags of various foods and drinks that church members pass on to homeless people.

Presbyteri­an Church

The week of July 31-Aug. 4, the church will have a new “Creative Kids Make It and Share It” half-day summer camp program for grades K-12. This will be a missionori­ented event for the youth, making a different project each day for a different nonprofit in Bella

Throughout July and August the Missions Committee will be collecting Snacks for Kids to be given to Helping Hands Food Pantry in Bentonvill­e. Bring child-friendly food items such as snack and lunch items, cheese and crackers, single-serve fruit cups, juice packets/ boxes, granola bars, microwavea­ble mac and cheese, ravioli, soups, etc. The donation table is located in the connector hallway. Items will be delivered frequently throughout the summer so kids won’t go hungry.

Community Church

Worship is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday, July 2. During the worship service, a staffed nursery is available as well as children’s worship for ages 4-12.

Men’s Bible Study is every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. downstairs in room 8/9. The current topic is a DVD study on “A Time for Confidence: Trusting God in a Post-Christian Society” by Stephen Nicols facilitate­d by Pastor Jeff Reed.

Prayer Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room.

Everyone is welcome to join the pastors Wednesday for weekly prayer and worship from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Parish nurses are available to answer questions and check blood pressure each Wednesday in the nurses’ office from 9 a.m. to noon.

First United Methodist Church

The Bella Vista Women’s Chorus meets each Monday from 12:45 to 3 p.m. in the church Music Room. This group performs a variety of music in concerts throughout the year and is open to any woman in the community who enjoys singing.

The Bella Vista Men’s Chorus meets each Monday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Music Room. This group is open to any man in the community who enjoys singing. The Men’s Chorus performs a variety of music concerts throughout the year.

Friends Plus Healthy Living meets at 9 a.m. Wednesdays at Lake Bella Vista in the parking lot along U.S. Highway 71 to walk for about an hour. Different groups walk at different paces while sharing in fellowship and encouragem­ent. About 10:30 a.m. meet in the Chapel to share tips on making healthier lifestyle choices, and encourage and uplift one another.

Traditiona­l worship services are held every Sunday at 8 and 10:45 a.m., with a contempora­ry worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes for all ages are held at 9:30 a.m. A nursery is provided.
