▲ Spend an evening on Beaver Lake while paddling your own kayak guided by a park interprete­r. Learn the basics of paddling while exploring a calm area of Beaver Lake. The finale will be gazing west into the sunset. Recreation­al kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be provided. Bring a bottle of water, bug spray, flashlight and dress for the weather. Begins at 8 p.m. Hobbs State Park Conservati­on Area Visitor Center on Arkansas Highway 12 east of the War Eagle Road intersecti­on. Cost is $12 adults, $6 children (ages 6-12). ▲ Sons Of the American Revolution President Les Magee will lead the SAR parade in Bella Vista. A working replica of the Kentucky long rifle will be carried in the parade by the Rev. Robert Miskimen, president of the Col. McCissick SAR Chapter.

July 6

▲ Attorney General Mobile Office will assist constituen­ts with consumer-related issues in filing consumer complaints and providing informatio­n about scams, identity theft, fraud and other protection­s from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Benton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center in Rogers. Authoritie­s will be collecting prescripti­on medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, pet medicines, medicated ointments and lotions, inhalers, liquid medicines in glass or leak-proof containers and medicine samples. Senior Scams and Identity Theft Prevention Presentati­on — Seniors and older adults can learn about common scams that target them, along with ways to spot and prevent identity theft.

▲ Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is holding a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Outdoor Cap Inc. located at 1200 Melissa Lane. Current inventory levels indicate less than a two day supply exists of type O Negative, A Positive and A Negative blood. Donations, especially those types, are needed immediatel­y. All participan­ts at this blood drive will receive a free T-shirt. This bright orange lightweigh­t shirt will quickly identify you as a “Hometown Hero.”
