City unveils list for A&P commissioners

Appointing commissioners for the city’s Advertising and Promotion Commission was a topic of discussion during Monday night City Council work session.

The commission will promote local businesses and be supported by a 1 percent tax on prepared food and a 2 percent tax on lodging services that will go into effect Sept. 1.

The proposed list of appointees includes four representatives of the food-service and hospitality industries, two City Council members and one atlarge member of the community.

• Dan Lombard, industry position, term ending July 31, 2018

• Ben Biesenthal, industry position, term ending July 31, 2019

• Richard Siker, industry position, term ending July 31, 2020

• Tom Judson, industry position, term ending July 31, 2021.

• Paula Sanders, at-large position, term ending July 31, 2021

• Brian Bahr, council member

• Doug Fowler, council member.
