Heroes and Hamburgers featuring kids showcase
Parents are encouraged to enter their kids for a chance to perform.
On Sept. 30 kids from Bella Vista and the surrounding communities will have the chance to perform for a live audience as part of the Heroes & Hamburgers festival at Simple Pleasures Event Center. Designed to help area families get to know the local police, fire and emergency-medical-service workers, the event will run from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the kids music showcase taking place between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Event guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the performances while engaging in festival activities such as classic car rides, a thank-a-hero card station and more. The festival is presented by Mach 1 Financial Group.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this kind of opportunity to aspiring kid performers,” said Ken Miner, founder of Simple Pleasures. “We know there is talent in our community, and this will be a great way for those kids to get some experience on a stage and just have some fun. Our stage is open to youth musical performances of all kinds, whether that’s playing a guitar, singing a solo or tap dancing."
The kids music showcase is open to all kids. Parents must submit entries via email to Miner
and include “Kids Music” in the subject line. Details regarding the information required in the email entry can be found on the event website, www.heroesandhamburgers.com.
In addition to the kids music showcase, the popular Northwest Arkansas group the JM Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. for a patriotic big band performance, the final 15 minutes of which will be synchronized to a fireworks display. Guests can enjoy Simple Pleasures’ signature wood-fired cheeseburgers, hot dogs and premium ice cream throughout the afternoon.
Admission to the family-friendly event is free. Those considering attending Heroes and Hamburgers are encouraged to bring “a lawn chair and a smile.”
