New Life Christian Church

New Life Christian Church offers four weekend services at 5 p.m. Saturday and at at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sunday. An ASL-certified interprete­r is at the 11:30 a.m. service each week.

New Life Kids’ Programmin­g for children birth to sixth grade is offered at all services.

Collide for students in seventh through 12th grade is held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center.

Starting Point is an 8-week gathering where questions about God turn into a conversati­on about faith. In a Starting Point group, members can discuss your doubts and explore the trickiest topics of faith, free from pressure and judgment. Community Church

Worship is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday, Oct. 8. During the worship service, a staffed nursery is available as well as children’s worship for ages 4-12.

Everyone is welcome to join the pastors Wednesday for weekly prayer and worship from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the chapel.

Growing Through Grief Support Group meets Thursday, Oct. 5, at 3:30 p.m. in the parlor.

Caregivers (All) Support Group will meet Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. in the parlor.

Men’s Bible Study started a new study on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Pastor Jeff Reed facilitate­s this new DVD series by R.C. Sproul titled “Chosen by God.” The meetings are on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. downstairs in Room 8/9.

Women’s Bible Study started Thursday, Sept. 28. This is a 6-week series on the book “Fight Back with Joy” by Margaret Feinberg. The cost of the book is $15. The meetings are on Thursday with the morning session at 9:30 a.m. and the evening session at 6 p.m. Both meet downstairs in Room 8/9.

The youth meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month with pizza at 6 p.m. and Bible study at 6:30 p.m.

This month is busy delivering Meals On Wheels, tying quilts for Sharing and Caring while at Cups and Croissants on Oct. 21, and getting ready for ther A-maze-ing Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31. Call the office for more informatio­n.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

The study of Robert Brummet’s book, “Finding Yourself in Transition” continues through Oct. 15 at the Sunday Morning class from 9 to 10 a.m. This material explores how to use life’s changes as a gateway to greater personal and spiritual growth.

“The Untethered Soul: A Journey Beyond Yourself” by Michael Singer, will be studied Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by a 20-minute meditation.

Social Action Team meets on Monday at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16. Sixty-seven bags of food and supplies were filled at the last meeting and are available to gift those in need.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

The Knights of Columbus officers will have a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m., in the library.

New Wine Ministry

The Feast of Tabernacle­s will be celebrated during the week of Oct. 5-15, and held at the NWA Ministry Center, 2262 Forest Hills Blvd. Bella Vista. These meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a time of worship before visiting speakers give a message. You are all welcome.

There will be high-powered speakers and motivators, along with gifted musicians to minister to the spirit and emotion of the people. The motivation and source of inspiratio­n comes through the Scriptures, where we believe instructio­n and empowermen­t can be found during these troublesom­e days within our nation.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Oct. 4, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of our friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the community is welcome to join us. At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing, devotions and prayer in the Worship Center. Bella Vista Lutheran Church

During October a new video series, “A Man Named Martin,” will be shown during the Bible Study Hour at Bella Vista

Different Strokes for Different Folks support group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month starting Oct. 24, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in the church library/office area.

Presbyteri­an Church

All members of the church are invited to the Presbyteri­an Women’s Fall Potluck Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 6, at noon in the Fellowship Hall. A program about Project Lifesaver of Benton County will follow the luncheon. Please sign up at the Informatio­n Center and invite a guest.

Martha Garvin Circle of Presbyteri­an Women is again collecting gently used sweaters and sweatshirt­s (all sizes for men, women and children) and given to the Salvation Army for distributi­on. The collection box will be in the connector hallway through Nov. 12.

“Clean Up Buckets” for storm victims in Texas and Florida are being filled with supplies needed to help with recovery efforts. Members of the church can pick up a supply list in the connector hallway and see samples of the supplies that are needed. This is a continuing project of the Missions Committee.

Unitarian Universali­sts

The Unitarian Universali­sts of Benton County has moved to 1400 W. Walnut, No. 113, in The Quarter Shopping Center located in Rogers. The Sunday service, which begins at 11 a.m., is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The service on Oct. 8 features discussion of last week’s homily titled “Resilience as a Spiritual Strength.”

Sunday School is available for children with a Unitarian Universali­st adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book, “Spirit Play,” as the primary resource. We structure the morning based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environmen­t and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.

First United Methodist Church

United Methodist Women will hold their 40th annual Holiday Craft Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade cinnamon and orange rolls will be available and lunch will be served after 10:30 a.m. Homemade crafts for many holidays and other events will be available, as well as, plants, books, “dignified discards” and many other items.

United Methodist Men will hold the semi-annual Pancake Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 20, from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children under 5 are free. All are welcome.

When Mourning Dawns, A Journey Through Grief invites everyone to go on a journey through the experience­s of grief — from the withering of autumn to the hopeful new growth of summer. The group meets on Tuesdays and continues through Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel.

Midweek Manna has begun for the fall. Meet in fellowship with a meal starting at 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. Suggested donation is $5 per adult, $3 per children under 10, and family maximum is $15. Small group study and small craft and activity groups meet from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 to 7:45 p.m. Classes include a Women’s Bible Study, Technology for Seniors, Elder-Care, The Shack, “Invitation to the Old Testament”, Color your Way to Calm, and bazaar crafts. New classes will be added in October. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers. Pre-K through sixth grade will learn Bible basics through Bible stories, memorizati­on of scripture and song. If needed, time for homework is provided. Youth Life, Grades 7-12, meets in the Youth Room.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on Tuesdays, from 10 to 11 a.m., in Room 6. Come for an hour of visiting and stitching. The shawls are given to shutins, those who are grieving, and other circumstan­ces. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is being lovingly made.

Men’s Emmaus meets each Wednesday, at 8:30 a.m., in Room 22. This group is open to any fellow who has gone through the Emmaus process.

United Methodists Womens Bazaar Craft Workshop: The first week of October UMW will be setting up for the Holiday Bazaar, wich is Saturday, Oct. 7. Bring a sack lunch along if you can stay past the noon hour and/or a snack to share. This will be a great time for meeting new friends and sharing crafty talents.

The Chancel Choir and Chancel Handbell Choir both have resumed rehearsals

after a summer hiatus. The Chancel Bells meet in the Music Room weekly, at 3:30 p.m., and the Chancel Choir will meet in the Sanctuary, at 5 p.m. To join either of these groups or for more informatio­n, contact Dr. Larry Zehring, director of Music Ministries, at 479855-1158.
