Call for candy

This will be the 11th year since BVPL began our annual Spooktacular event. Last year, we were blown away with how many people in the community came out for our event. With more than 500 attendees, the candy we provided for the event went FAST. This year we are reaching out to our generous community to ask for help providing candy for this growing event. If you are able, just buying a bag or two of candy would be an enormous help, as we put on yet another year of family-friendly fun. We are so fortunate in our community to have such dedicated patrons. Whether your support comes from donations or attending the events we work so diligently on, we appreciate all that you do to support your local library.

Half-off encore books

All inventory in Encore Books will be 50 percent through Oct. 21. Come by the library during business hours and get some amazing deals on books, movies, and more.

October teen night

Every third Friday of the month at 5:30 p.m., the Bella Vista Public Library hosts Teen Night for ages 11-17. Join us on Friday, Oct. 20, for a night all about cars. We’ll even have a very cool old car here at the library to see.

Barns of Benton County

Meet the co-authors of “Barns of Benton County, Arkansas” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. Melba Shewmaker and Monte Harris will tell of their adventures as they drove the back roads for 16 years photographing and documenting barn history. Their collaboration resulted in a beautiful book of stunning photographs and snippets of local history. Bring your book or buy a book and have it signed by the authors.

Spooktacular

It’s that time of year again. Join us for the Bella Vista Public Library’s 11th Annual Spooktacular event from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. This year Spooktacular is going to be bigger than ever with more games, more activities, and a hay ride. We’re also excited to welcome our special guests, Super Science NWA and the Scott Family Amazeum

to the event this year. Mark your calendars and get your costume ready because we are going to have a spectacularly spooky good time.

We now have a story time for children grades K-5 at 5 p.m. every Tuesday. These stories and crafts will be geared for older ages. Please join us for a fun-filled evening.
