Bella Vista/ Bentonvill­e Photograph­y Club

The Bella Vista/Bentonvill­e Photograph­y Club met on Oct. 17 at Hometown Bank in Jane, Mo., for its regular monthly meeting. Doug Keck, club president, opened the meeting with a discussion of the judging for the 2017 Fall Contest. First-, secondand third-place winners in all categories of the contest were announced. This month’s photograph­y contest category was “Landscapes.” Doug Keck won first place, Linda Hupp, second place, and John Huse, third place. Doug Keck presented the evening’s program on improving your fall pictures using Lightroom. The club’s potluck dinner will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14. The monthly photograph­y contest for November is “Fall Colors.”

Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. Johnny Eubanks will be calling. There will be a workshop at 6:30 p.m. prior to the dance. For informatio­n, contact Bill Allen at 479-876-5066.

Kiwanis Club

Weekly meetings are held at 7 a.m. every Thursday at Concordia Retirement Center. Breakfast is available. Visitors, Kiwanis members, and former Kiwanis members are all invited to attend.

Sunrise Rotary Club

The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club has a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. every Wednesday in the Concordia Main Building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista. The speaker for the Nov. 8 meeting will be Coach Neighbors, head coach for the women’s basketball team at the University of Arkansas. Steve Dunlap from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be the speaker at the next meeting, on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Guests are welcome to attend any of the meetings. Laureate Alph Mu

Laureate Alpha Mu will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the home of Glenda Heist. The November social will be scheduled at this meeting. The last social was held Thursday, Oct. 26, at the home of Scott and Shawn Grisby.

Laureate Alpha Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi

The Laureate Alpha Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the home of Linda Krysl, with Betty Boling-Stull as co-hostess. An interestin­g and informativ­e program was given by a detective of the Bella Vista Police force on home safety, recent scams, and identity theft. For their monthly social, the group went to Crystal Bridges for lunch and to see the Stuart Davis Collection that is on display there.

Mike Whited of Arvest Bank will be this month’s guest speaker at the meeting at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, and will speak on financial security as it relates to online banking. This public meeting is in Room A at Highlands Crossing Center, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd. Bella Vista. Women’s Chorus

Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the chorus will sing to support veterans at the “Veteran’s Day Musical Salute.” Joined by the Bella Vista Men’s Chorus, Perfect Harmony and the Bentonvill­e High School Chamber Choir, singers will honor veterans in song. The performanc­e is at the Bella Vista Community Church at 3 p.m. Nov. 11. This concert is a fundraiser for the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le and the Veterans Wall of Honor in Bella Vista. Bella Vista Women’s Chorus invites singers from the tri-county area to join them. All are welcome, with no tryouts or experience needed. The chorus performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local clubs and events. Rehearsals are Mondays at 12:45 p.m. in the music room of Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. Fly-Tyers Club

The Fly-Tyers Club meetings are every Thursday at Riordan Hall, beginning at 9 a.m. for a social hour and followed by a meeting from 10 to 11 a.m. The club is a fishing, conservati­on and service organizati­on consisting of approximat­ely 150 members. This group of men and women share a common interest in fishing (both warm and cold-water species) found in the local streams and lakes of Bella Vista. The club also promotes lake conservati­on and recreation­al activities and conducts service projects throughout northwest Arkansas.

Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus

The Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus meets from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday at Innisfree Senior Living Community, 300 Innisfree Circle, Rogers, which is one block east, on 24th and Walnut Streets. Men’s Chorus
