Charles “Dan” Fagala, 79, of Bella Vista, died Nov. 19, 2017. He was born in Cave Springs, Ark., on Mar. 1, 1938.

He was a Baptist minister and pastored churches in Fayettevil­le, Ark.; Munford, Tenn.; Wynne, Ark.; Gravette, Ark.; and Bella Vista, Ark. He was also a school teacher in the Gravette School District, worked for Gravette News Herald, and was a graphic artist at University of Arkansas, Agency Art Associates, and Worldwide Art Studios.

He loved to paint and draw and painted many church murals or lettered church signs. He loved music and loved to sing. Teaching was also a passion. But his divine calling to preach the gospel was his highest calling, and he pursued it with a passion fueled by his love for Jesus, his Savior.

He loved the people of the churches he pastored and served in many leadership capacities in the Baptist Missionary Associatio­n. He was instrument­al in starting Care and Share in Gravette and was an officer of the local Lions Club. He also was the longtime “Voice of Gravette Lions football.”

His favorite pastime was crappie fishing; he was an avid fisherman, but most importantl­y a “fisher of men.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Oleta Fagala, and a daughter, Sherry Lynn Fagala.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of 58 years; daughter, Janette (Gary) Willis; son, Danny (Robin) Fagala; five grandchild­ren; three great-grandchild­ren; brother Robin (Myrna) Fagala; sister Florence Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held 5-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 24, at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
