Operation: Warm NWA is hosting a coat drive to collect clean, gently worn, warm coats, hats, gloves, socks and blankets throughout the winter season. Area residents are invited to make a difference in our local community by donating to the coat drive and helping Operation: Warm NWA reach their goal of collecting 500 coats and 500 blankets.

“We are so excited about our event and hope the community will support us. There are nearly 50 million Americans currently living in poverty and struggling to provide a warm coat for themselves or their families. Operation: Warm NWA’s program helps us keep all of the items we collect in this community, which will make a big difference for our neighbors who need warmth this winter” said the group’s founder and local resident, Sarah Houston.

Donations can be dropped off at Apple Blossom Brewing Company, Mockingbird Kitchen and Behrents Endodontic Specialists’ Office.

Operation: Warm NWA is a newly founded private foundation that works to provide free, warm items to any person in need and raises awareness of the vital need for warm items in our community. Operation Warm: NWA collects, launders, repairs and distributes donated items across the area based on the specific needs of the recipient organization. Donations to date benefit: 7hills Homeless Center, Peace at Home Family Shelter, The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter, House of Hope Rescue Mission and Samaritan Community Centers.
