Ellis Fabrics and Joe Ellis Upholstery join together in one convenient location
Ellis Fabrics and Joe Ellis Upholstery, of Bentonville, have recently combined the two businesses into a singular storefront space making it easier to meet the upholstery and fabric needs of customers. In 2013, Cheryl and her son, Joe Ellis, opened Ellis Fabrics in response to the needs of Joe’s upholstery customers. “Customers would come into the upholstery shop and ask where they could get fabric,” stated Cheryl. “There were limited fabric options locally, so we decided that we would open the fabric store to offer customers a convenient place to shop for fabrics.” Joe Ellis Upholstery has been in business since 2008 and does commercial and residential upholstery including antique and leather furniture, as well as outdoor cushions, RV motor home cushions, doctor and chiropractor offices, restaurants, waiting room chairs, fitness equipment, and decorative pillows. Custom ottomans and headboards can also be built by Joe Ellis Upholstery and upholstered with fabric from Ellis Fabrics. “We’ve recently expanded and streamlined the two businesses,” added Cheryl. “We’ve opened a design area here to give us some more space to spread out. All the things we had up in the front of the store are now in our design area.” Ellis Fabrics and Joe Ellis Upholstery recently had the opportunity to lease additional space, so they’ve moved all of their special order items into a new design area where people can shop. This has helped streamline the offices between the two shops allowing customers to come into one entrance.
“We carry fabrics at a real reasonable price point,” noted Cheryl. “We try to buy close-outs and maybe discontinued patterns, that we can offer at a really good buy. We also offer order fabrics like designer fabrics — we can get leather, all types of outdoor fabrics, and specialty fabrics. So, even if we don’t stock it, we can get it. We try to provide, at any price point, what customers are looking for.”
Outdoor fabrics are a top seller at Ellis Fabrics. Camper and RV owners frequent the fabric store to update or fix their upholstery. Ellis Fabrics offers a wide range of outdoor upholstery fabrics that are perfect for projects.
