Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Maundy Thursday, March 29, there will be a celebratio­n of the Lord’s Supper worship service at 6 p.m.

Good Friday, March 30, there will be the service of darkness, Good Friday Tenebrae, at 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 31, there will be an Easter egg hunt on church property at 4 p.m.

Easter Sunday, April 1, there will be two worship services at 8:30 a.m. (traditiona­l) and 10:45 a.m. (blended).

Forest Hills Church

Forest Hills Church, an American Baptist Congregati­on, welcomes people of all faiths to worship Easter Sunday. Join us for a joint Easter Sonrise Service with Highland Christian Church at 8:30 a.m. Easter Breakfast will follow immediatel­y after in the fellowship hall. Our own Pastor Mark Kirby will deliver the 10:45 a.m. service.

First United Methodist Church

Maundy Thursday Taize Service at 6:30 p.m.

Good Friday Worship services at noon and 6:30 p.m.

Community Easter Sunrise Service sponsored by the First United Methodist Church will be held at 7 a.m. at Metfield Clubhouse.

Easter Worship Services at 8, 9:30 and 10:45 a.m.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets from 10 to 11 a.m. on Fridays in Room 6. This ministry stitches and visits during this time. Everyone is invited; instructio­n is given. The shawls are given to shut-ins and those who grieve. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is being made.

Two weekly AA meetings are hosted at the First United Methodist Church. Call or stop by the church for more informatio­n.

The Bazaar Craft Workshops meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday until the Oct. 5 Bazaar. Bring a sack lunch and/or a snack to share. A good time to meet new friends and share crafty talents.

Bella Vista Community Church

Easter Sunday, April 1, Pastor Jeff Reed will preach at the traditiona­l service at 9:30 a.m. and Pastor Cody Ragland will preach at the contempora­ry service at 11 a.m.

Highland Christian Church

Highland Christian Church invites the community to the following Easter services:

• Maundy Thursday evening service at 5:30 p.m. March 29. A 24-hour prayer vigil will follow.

• Easter Early Service at

8:30 a.m., April 1, at Forrest Hills Church — this will be a combined service with a breakfast immediatel­y after the service.

• Easter Service at 10:30 a.m., April 1, at Highland Christian Church.

Highland Christian Church is hosting two hours of James Garrett “Tribute to John Denver” concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Advance ticket sales only. Tickets may be purchased at Bella Vista Library and Village House Adult Program. 100 percent of tickets sold go the support of these great organizati­ons. Limited seating, please purchase tickets soon.

Highlands Church

The community is invited to the following Easter services:

Maundy Thursday Service at 6 p.m. March 29. There will be a “simple supper” of soup, bread and water served in the fellowship hall. The meal is part of the worship service and will conclude with a silent entry into the sanctuary for the stripping of the altar. Maundy Thursday commemorat­es the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane and Jesus’ arrest.

Carry the cross and walk as Jesus walked. The Cross Walk is at 2:30 p.m. Good Friday, March 30, weather permitting. The walk begins at the Highlands Golf Course parking lot and travels along Glasgow Road to the church, about a quarter of a mile. If unable to make the walk, please stand along the road nearer the church and join the procession as it passes or meet the cross as it arrives at Highlands Church about 2:45 p.m. There will

be a very brief service ending at the time it is thought Jesus died, at 3 p.m.

On Easter morning, April 1, there will be two services; traditiona­l at 9:30 am and contempora­ry at 11 a.m. A continenta­l breakfast will be served before each service from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and 10:15 to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

There will be a community Easter egg hunt at 12:15 p.m., immediatel­y following the contempora­ry service.

Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

The Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista invites the community to worship on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m. After the service, meet the Easter Bunny in the fellowship hall. The bunny’s assistant will take pictures and these photos will be available for pickup the following Sunday.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

St. Bernard Catholic Church invites all to its Holy Week events.

Holy Thursday Mass at 7 p.m. March 29.

Good Friday, March 30, Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m., followed by Novena of Divine Mercy Good Friday and Mass at 7 p.m.

Easter Vigil, March 31, Mass at 8 p.m.

Easter Sunday, April 1, Mass at 9 a.m.

United Lutheran Church

Thursday, March 29, there is a Seder meal planned at 6 p.m. Seating begins at 5:45 p.m. with a $1 ticket or a donated can good. Call 479-855-1325 for RSVP. Maundy Thursday service will be held at

Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. March 30.

Two Easter Sunday services will be held; one at 8:15 a.m., the other at 10:30 a.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt and breakfast at 9:30 a.m.

United Singles will hold a brunch at Papa Mike’s at 9:30 a.m., April 7. Please call 479-855-1325 for more informatio­n.

The ULC Choir presents, The Easter Contata: “The Alleluia Tree,” at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on April 8. The community is welcome.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Easter Victory Candle Lighting Service takes place Sunday, April 1. The prayer team meets, following the 10:30 service. If there is a prayer need, please contact Rev Elise at minister@unityozark­s.org.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, March 28, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of friendly volunteers.

Friday, March 30, Good Friday Worship Service, with communion, will be held at 6:30 p.m. The community is invited.

Easter Sunday, Pastor Mark Voll’s sermon title will be “Leaving No Stone Unturned,” with a text of Mark 16:1-8.

Unitarian Universali­sts

At UUBC, the theme for April is miracles. The service on April 1 features a homily by a Unitarian Universali­st minister on this topic.
