Friends of the Library Quilt Raffle

The Friends of the Library is holding a quilt raffle. This quilt is displayed at the Library and is machine-constructe­d, hand-quilted, 66 inches by 66 inches with a pattern called “Barn Raising” Log Cabin. The drawing will be held at the Bella Vista Library at 2 p.m. on April 28. Winner need not be present to win. Tickets are available at the membership desk in the library at $1 each or six for $5. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to the Friends of the Library.

Future Care presentati­on

Join the library for an interactiv­e and educationa­l session focused on the challenges many of us will face as we age at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3. Carrie Wilson and Jeremy Janes will outline the difference­s between short-term rehabilita­tion care and long-term elder care. Topics will include Medicare payment limitation­s, estimated care expenses in Benton County, and several planning solutions to consider. Bring questions and be ready to be prepared.

Dutch Oven Cooking demonstrat­ion

The library will be cooking up a storm at the Dutch Oven Cooking Demo. Bring your appetite to the library for a delicious day outdoors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 9. There is a $5 supply fee for this workshop and the event is limited to 20 spots. Register at the library or on the website. The menu will include Ranch chicken casserole Philly, cheese-steak casserole and a dessert.

Blossoms and Bows

The Bella Vista Public Library and the Village Wastewater Company Inc. will be hosting a Mother’s Day extravagan­za at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12. Children will be able to make beautiful gifts for Mom for free.

Friends of the Library, Encore

The Friends of the Library’s used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children’s books, paperbacks, biographie­s, health and wellness topics, and much, much more are available. All proceeds from this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

To coincide with Bella Vista’s citywide garage sale, the Friends of the Library will hold a half-price sale on the Encore used-book section of the Library. Everything will be marked half off the already low prices through April 28.

Floral Arrangemen­t

April’s floral arrangemen­t was designed and provided by Deloris Jennings of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Blvd. at 11 Dickens Place.
