▲ Bella Vista Garden Club's annual Spring Plant Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Village Waste Water plant. The sale will include perennials, native plants, shrubs and trees at a reasonable price. Proceeds from the Spring Plant Sale funds scholarshi­ps for students studying horticultu­re at area colleges and universiti­es. Some funds are also used to support Bella Vista beautifica­tion projects such as the planting of daffodils at city offices, fire stations, and the Bella Vista Historical Museum.

▲ Highlands Flea Market will be Saturday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to noon. This annual event is held at Highlands Church and is hosted by the United Methodist Women. All proceeds are donated to local women's and children's charities. Items for sale will include household items, linens, collectibl­es, jewelry, furniture, books, lawn and garden, coffee shop and bakery. Those wishing to sell their own items for profit may make a reservatio­n for an outside space by calling 479-855-2277.

▲ Boater Safety Class will held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Riordan Hall. The course is free and POA members receive a 10 percent discount on boat registrati­ons. Bring your certificat­ion with you the next time your register a boat. Sign up at https://register-ed.com/ events/view/118943.

▲ National Music Week sponsored by The National Federation of Music Clubs is May 6-13, 2018. This year's theme is “Music … The Universal Language.” Andante Music Club of Bella Vista will present musicians Samantha Akers, violinist; Debra Hall and Bob Baker, pianists; and William Barnett, tenor, in concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Mildred Cooper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista. ▲ The Bella Vista Community Band will play a free concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Blowing Springs park. The event is free and open to the public.

▲ “Parenting Adult Children” A free seminar concerning parenting adult children will be presented at Village Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 9. The public is invited. The church is located at 380 Glasgow Rd. in Bella Vista. The seminar will be presented by Susan Goss, the Co-Founder of The Joshua Center of NWA, and the Founder / Director of Tangible Truth Ministries.
