Bella Vista Community Church

BVCC member Jason Long will be participat­ing in the National Veterans Wheelchair Games again this year. Village Baptist Church

Coffee with a Cop — Wouldn’t a good cup of coffee and a doughnut hit the spot? Come to Village Baptist Church at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 26, for “Coffee with a Cop.” You will have the chance to say “thank you” to the men and women of our Bella Vista Police Department who keep us safe and respond to our calls, and talk with the police chief. We hope you will take a few minutes to let these people know how much they mean to us. This is open to the public. The church is located at 380 Glasgow Road in the Highlands of Bella Vista. Highland Christian Church

Pastor Paul Seal will continue his “Gratitude” sermon series on Sunday, July 29, which is titled “Preparing to Receive the Gift,” with text content of 1 Corinthian­s 1: 1-9.

Save The Date — Back by popular demand, James Garrett and Friends voted ”Best Morning Show” in Branson several years running, will bring the music of Glen Campbell to Highland Christian Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Unity Church of the Ozarks

Unity Church presents a comedy concert with Greg Tamblyn at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26. Tickets are $15 each or two for $25. Enjoy an evening of hilarious, heartfelt musical musings and mindful mischief that impart life messages and spiritual insights through the right brain doorway of music and laughter. This event is open to all of the community.

Village Bible Church

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 25. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and

would appreciate the compassion and encouragem­ent of our friendly volunteers.

Sunday, July 29, guest pastor Eldon Mincks will bring the message for the Worship Service.

Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista

The Women’s Book Club of the Presbyteri­an Church welcomes all community readers to the next meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, in the church parlor. This club is unique in that everyone chooses a book around a theme rather than reading the same book. July’s theme is a book about an island. Stop by to find out next month’s theme and join the interestin­g conversati­ons.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

“GriefShare” starts on Aug. 16 and continues for 13 weeks at Bella Vista Lutheran Church. Those who

have suffered a loss are asked to call the church office to register at 479-855-0272 so that books can be ordered.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and it is in need of canned vegetables, canned pinto beans and kidney beans and large bar soap. It also collects “Best Choice” barcodes so that it can purchase items needed. Donation containers are available in the church narthex.

First United Methodist Church

UMW annual rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. There is something for everyone, including sporting goods, books, tools, kitchenwar­e, toys, electronic­s and much more. Cinnamon and orange rolls will be served until they are gone, and lunch will be available. All proceeds go to benefit local charities. If you would like to donate to the sale, donations will be taken Monday, July 30, through Thursday, Aug. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. No clothing, furniture or TVs, please.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets from 10 to 11 a.m. on Fridays. The

ministry provides shawls to shutins, those who are grieving and other circumstan­ces. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is being made. Members of this ministry are happy to instruct all new knitters, and the community is welcome to attend.

If you are interested in supporting the UMW Bazaar to be held on Oct. 6, there is a UMW craft workshop that meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays until the Oct. 6 Bazaar. Bring a sack lunch along if you can stay past the noon hour and/or a snack to share.

Two weekly meetings of AA are being hosted at the church on Monday and Saturday. Please call or stop by the church for more informatio­n.

Bella Vista Baptist Church

Senior Movie and Ice Cream night is at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 27. The movie, “Secrets at Arrow Lake,” will be shown in Grace Hall. It stars Ali Faulkner, Dedee Pfeiffer, Kurt Cole and C. Thomas Howell and tells the story of Mia’s mother dying unexpected­ly and her father returning and becoming a suspect in the death.
