Suspect arrested in Walgreens robbery out again in Texas
Houston police are looking for an individual who was recently arrested in Bella Vista.
Patrick Glavin, 40, was arrested by the Bella Vista Police De- partment in June in connection with obstructing governmental operations and a Houston Police Department warrant for multiple robberies.
Channel 2 News out of Houston reported Aug. 10 that police are searching for Glavin, who is accused of being involved with nearly a dozen robberies in Houston, Harris County and Arkansas.
Criminal Investigations Division Lt. Byron Stival said Glavin was initially arrested in Bella Vista June 21 after the Houston Police Department contacted Bella Vista police, who were investigating the robbery of a Walgreens store that took place June 18.
According to the Channel 2 article, Glavin received deferred adjudication and was released July 26. Hours later, he allegedly committed two more robberies and the Houston Police Department has issued a warrant for his arrest.
The suspect in the Bella Vista Walgreens robbery was reportedly wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans and a camouflage cap, obscuring his face with sunglasses and a surgical mask. The suspect reportedly handed staff a note demanding bottles of pills.
This is consistent with other robberies that Glavin was allegedly involved in in Texas.
“During correspondence with Houston officers, we located a family member of Glavin’s in Bella Vista. Houston officers also provided us with information regarding their cases and other surrounding agencies where Glavin was a suspect of similar crimes,” Stival said. “At that point, Glavin became a person of interest to our case.”
Stival said he drove to that family member’s address and spoke with Patrick Glavin, who gave him a false name. He was transported to the Benton County Jail, Stival said, given a must-appear court date for Bella Vista charges and then extradited to Harris County Jail a few days later.
In addition to the two robberies Glavin has been accused of since his July 26 release, a pair of similar robberies were reported Thursday, August 9.
Houston-based ABC 13 reported that a robbery was attempted at a Kroger in New Caney, Texas and employees refused. The suspect left in a white Chevrolet Malibu and, roughly half an hour later, successfully robbed a Walgreens in Porter. In both robberies, ABC 13 reported the suspect wore a surgical mask.
