Emil M. Cross Jr.
Colonel Emil M. Cross Jr., U.S. Army (Retired), of Bella Vista, Ark., 98, died Aug. 17, 2018, at Circle of Life, Legacy Village.
He was born to Emil M. Cross Sr. and Ida (Herke) Cross in Kansas City, Mo., June 12, 1920. He was raised in Independence, Mo., and spent much of his adult life in the Metropolitan Kansas City area. He served in the U.S. Army for 33 years. He earned a master’s degree in education administration and taught math in the Kansas City School District and worked in sales for Franklin Life Insurance. He and his wife moved to Bella Vista in 1985. He was a member of several organizations and the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista.
He was preceded in death by a sister, L’Nora Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Muriel Anderson Cross of the home; daughter, Claudia J. Morgenstern of Washington, D.C.; son, Lon C. Cross Sr. of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, with the Rev. Dennis Ritchie officiating. Burial with military honors was in Mound Grove Cemetery, 1818 N. River Blvd., Independence, Mo., Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018.
Ralph Eugene Fellows
Ralph Eugene (Gene) Fellows, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Aug. 12, 2018, at Highlands Healthcare and Rehab in Bella Vista.
He was born in Rock Is- land, Ill., March 26, 1927, to Ralph T. and Agnes (Olson) Fellows. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He began a 35-year career with John Deere Co. after his service. On Oct. 8, 1950, he married Betty (Blayney) Fellows in Rock Island. They moved to Bella Vista, where they lived for the past 34 years. They enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling. He was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church in Bella Vista.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Fellows; and in 1953, an infant son.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty; two sons, David E. Fellows (Judy) of Overland Park, Kan., and Bryan (Jan) of Lino Lakes, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Highlands United Methodist Church.

Guadalupe Flores
Guadalupe Flores, 72, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Aug. 20, 2018.
Survivors include daughters, Alicia Robertson (Larry) of Bella Vista, Jessica Flores of Bella Vista, Patricia Williams (Travis) of South Carolina, Ticia Delic (Nick) of Croatia; two brothers; one sister; and five grandchildren.

Lloyd R. Hilsabeck
Lloyd R. Hilsabeck, 95, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Aug. 24, 2018.
He was born in Redfield, S.D., on March 6, 1923, to Dorothy Marie Lentz and Clinton Ray Hilsabeck. He graduated from Cresbarb High School in South Dakota and enlisted in the military, serving as a paratrooper in the 517th Airborne during WWII. He married Margaret Mille in December 1943.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister; and son.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele Paape and Susette Hilsabeck.
A private family interment will be at a later date.

Larry Charles Iwen
Larry Charles Iwen, 70, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark.
He was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Fargo, N.D., to Ethel O’Quist Iwen and Wilbur Iwen. He was a chemist for many years at 3M and Imation. He retired to the Bella Vista area in 2005 after moving from Minnesota. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and spending time in nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two aunts.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Iwen, of Bella Vista, whom he married in August 2006; two daughters, Carie Shopbell (Darren) of North Carolina, Kristi Kurkowski (John) of Wisconsin; and five grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.

William Harry Lynn
William Harry Lynn, 71, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Aug. 25, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice-Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark.
He was born in 1947 in Columbia,
Tenn., to Mark and Beulah Lynn. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1969, and his career in mechanical engineering and management moved him and his family to manufacturing companies in Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas and Wisconsin. He received several U.S. patents on various inventions. He retired to Bella Vista in 2009 and enjoyed working on inventions, being the computer guru for anyone that needed help, riding motorcycles and playing guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Susan Lynn; daughters, Betsy (John) Lange of Grafton, Wis., and Molly Lynn of Riverside, Mo.; two grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; sisters, Betty (Fred) McAuliffe of Whitehall, Mont., Joy (Kim) Taylor of Southaven, Miss., and Faye (Kenneth) Jackson of Columbia, Tenn.; and brother, Mark (Karen) Lynn of Laguna Hills, Calif.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 1 p.m. until service time.

Doyle David May
Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Doyle David May, 80, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Aug. 17, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.
He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Rison, Ark., to Lonnie David May and Lillie Elizabeth Sandine May. He enlisted in the Navy in 1956 and served in a variety of assignments before retiring in 1978. A Vietnam veteran, he earned five air medals for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances J. Francis.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joanne May; daughter, Stephanie Lewis; sons, David Dwayne May and William Doyle; and eight grandchildren.
