Award-winning clinic celebrates 20 years in the community
Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. At Blue Wave Hearing Centers, helping patients find hearing solutions has remained their constant mission, even as they celebrate 20 years in a business that has grown and changed with new technology and research.
“Our 20-year anniversary not only reinforces our belief that helping patients regain their sense of hearing is important, but it also illustrates that our mission is just as relevant today as it was when we opened the doors to our Sugar Creek clinic back in 1999,” says Dr. Molly Jean Dillon, audiologist and owner of both the Bentonville and Bella Vista Blue Wave Hearing Clinics.
The doctors at Blue Wave Hearing Centers have seen technology improve immensely over the last few years. But most significant is the staggering amount of research that links hearing health to overall health, including the connection between untreated hearing loss and dementia.
“As the science of hearing loss continues to expand, we are seeing an increase in the number of people who are ready to embrace innovative hearing solutions,” says lead audiologist at Blue Wave in Bella Vista, Dr. Beth Muller. “So far, the evidence suggests that improving hearing sensitivity helps keep the brain sharp, and as more people seek amplification through hearing devices, we end up with a mentally sharper, healthier population as a whole.”
Improving communication is at the heart of their profession, according to Dr. Muller. “As audiologists, we specialize in communication,” she says. “In helping our patients regain their sense of hearing, we devote much of our time to building bridges between patients and their families, as well as providing connections within our local community.”
At Blue Wave Hearing Centers, the doctors and staff are proud of the longterm relationships they have built over the past 20 years. Blue Wave Hearing strives to promote volunteerism by providing free services to Veterans and by hosting monthly seminars to educate the public about hearing research and advanced treatments for hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders.
