Settler’s Cabin

While the Settler’s Cabin, which was moved to the museum grounds in March of this year, has been fully furnished, we are still anticipating expenses for future events, for equipment storage, and for additional fencing. Therefore, we have extended the deadline to Dec. 31, for those donating $100 or more to get their names added to a plaque that will be mounted inside the cabin in 2020. If you would like to support the ongoing cabin project and have your name added to our plaque, please drop off your donation at the museum, or mail it to us at 1885 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista

AR 72714. Thank you.

Hot Stove League

Attention all baseball fans: To get you through the winter doldrums, please note that we are having another Hot Stove League meeting at the museum at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5. We will host a talk by Bella Vista resident Dave Armstrong. Dave has been broadcasting professional and college sports since 1988, including stints with the KC Royals and the Colorado Rockies. He has written a book about his experiences, called “Driving from Here to Wow: Looking at Life Through the Windshield.” We hope you can join us. Admission is free.

Fisher-Price Toys

We really appreciate everyone coming out to hear Bruce Fox’s presentation this past Sunday about his Fisher-Price toy collection. Our exhibit featuring some of the toys from his collection will remain on display through the end of January. Bruce retired from Fisher-Price after 31 years of service for which he won multiple sales awards. Bruce and his wife Becky moved to Bella Vista in 2003. He was the company’s historian and co-authored two books on the history of Fisher-Price. Please come see these toys, and bring your children and grandchildren with you! Admission is free.
