Memberships for 2020

If you are interested in supporting the Bella Vista Historical Museum, you are welcome to sign up for membership in our Historical Society, which operates the museum. Dues for the calendar year are $15 per person or $25 per family. We also offer a corporate sponsorship for $50, and all businesses in Bella Vista are welcome to join. Our staff consists of all volunteers, so any revenue we receive goes toward operating costs. By becoming a member, you support the preservation of Bella Vista’s history and help us educate others. Benefits include our quarterly newsletter and an invitation to our annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15. You may pay for your membership by sending a check to BVHS at 1885 Bella Vista Way, Bella

Vista AR 72714, or stopping by the museum to pay by cash, check or debit/credit card. Our newsletter is available by email or snail mail. We prefer to have your email so that we can avoid the additional expense of postage but, if you don’t have email, we will mail our newsletter to your home address. We are a 501c3 organization, so your membership qualifies as being tax-deductible.

Bella Vista Civil War Roundtable

Our Roundtable continues to meet the first Thursday evening of each month at 7 p.m. at the museum. If you would like to get on the mailing list to be informed of future speakers, please contact Chuck Pribbernow at cnpribb@ yahoo.com. The next meeting, on Thursday, Feb. 6, will feature Troy Banzhaf on the Battle of Pea Ridge.

Museum Gift Shop

We are happy to announce that Constance Waddell, author of the book Sally and Me, which she wrote about growing up at Lake Bella Vista, has donated additional copies of her book to sell in our gift shop. If you missed her talk last year at our museum, please note that she will be speaking again at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Shiloh Museum in Springdale. You will enjoy listening to her stories!

Fisher-Price Toy Exhibit

Our current Fisher-Price toy exhibit, on loan from Bella Vista resident Bruce Fox, has been extended through the end of February. Come for your own memories of these delightful toys, or bring your children/ grandchildren to see these original vintage wooden toys from the 1930s onward. Admission is free.

Hours of operation

The Historical Museum is located at 1885 Bella Vista Way, at the corner of U.S. 71 and Kingsland Road, next to the American Legion. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The phone number is 479-8552335. The website is bellavista museum.org.
