GOLF TOURNAMENTS

The golf tournament season in Bella Vista will be getting a late start this year due to the covid-19 pandemic. The Golf Operations office has been busy rescheduling as many events as possible for later in the golfing season and will continue to do so.

Golf Fest/Demo Day — canceled

With safety as the main priority for members and staff, this year’s Golf Fest is canceled for the 2020 year.

Instead, a vendor-specific fitting experience is being offered. During your scheduled fitting time, you will meet with a certified club fitter, utilizing the launch monitor, to find the optimal club selection for your swing. You are required to have an appointment to attend. Space is limited.

Vendor-specific fitting experience dates are Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Callaway; and Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Titleist. To make an appointment call 479-855-5171 or lesliet@ bvvpoa.com.

American Legion Golf Tournament — rescheduled

The 13th Annual American Legion golf tournament has been rescheduled for Aug. 29. The event is being held at Kingswood Golf Course and is an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

If you have already entered a team for the tournament and are still planning on playing, you do not need to do anything. However, if you have entered and wish to receive a refund, call 479-426-8723, or email usaf7078@yahoo. com.

Tee box sponsorships are still available and in-kind donations from local businesses for door prizes are welcome.

GOLF GROUPS

The Bella Vista Women’s Five + Four Hole Golf Association is accepting members for the 2020 golf season. Founded in 1973, the group welcomes POA members who are relatively new to the game, as well as those who are good, experienced golfers.

The group primarily plays at Brittany golf course where golfers have the option to walk or use carts. Play is every Monday, with morning tee times May-October. Members score the first five holes of play, after which players can quit or finish out the nine-hole course. No handicaps are used. Play began Monday, May 4.
