Things to see in Bella Vista
Meads’ website shows off Bella Vista’s beauty
Bella Vista resident Dustie Meads started her website, beautifulbellavista. com, back in 2003 to highlight the city she’d just moved to.
“There was hardly anything on the internet about Bella Vista, what was was spotty and I really wanted to know more about the town that we were moving to,” she said.
Working on the site was a great chance to learn more herself, she added, and she hoped it would help prospective residents down the road.
“Learned a lot about the Ozarks, learned a lot about the history of Bella Vista,” she said.
Meads said she’s fielded a lot of questions from people interested in Bella Vista over the years, as a result, and also met a lot of people in town.
One really interesting thing, she said, is that Bella Vista is full of people from all over the nation.
“We’ve got them coming from all four corners of the States,” she said.
Meads explained that she isn’t an exception, having moved from Ohio to Texas and then Missouri before arriving in Bella Vista — the only town she’d consider after seeing it.
In addition to photography and information for the website, Meads has produced nature videos which the Bella Vista Historical museum sold copies of. That video is likely headed to YouTube soon, she said.
Even beyond working on the site, Meads said she’s exploring outside often — fishing, recording or just taking in the scenery.
“I’m outside as much as possible because this is a place to be outdoors,” she said.
