‘American Pickers’ seeking collectors in area
Staff of “American Pickers,” a hit documentary TV series that airs on the History Channel, plan to film episodes in Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri in June.
The show explores the world of antique “picking” and follows skilled pickers in the business as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. These pickers will be searching for historically significant or rare items, in addition to interesting characters and their collections to feature on the show.
“The Pickers are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, they want to meet characters with amazing stories and fun items,” Meredith Ball, a producer for the show, stated in a press release. “They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way. They are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them.”
The TV show is looking for leads in the area and the producers would like to hear from anyone who has or knows someone who has unique items, stories to tell, and is ready to sell.
Anyone interested should send their name, phone number, location and description of the items or collection, along with photos, to americanpickers@cineflix.com; leave a voicemail at 646-493-2184.
The Pickers do not pick stores, flea markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public.
