committed group.”

Monarch Coyotes Coach: David Auday

The Scorecard: Senior leadership is spread throughout the field, despite there being only five neargraduates on the Mohi roster. Monarch will take a spring break trip down to Florida to test its moxie, and the Coyotes will have some good battles in store in Class 5A competition when they return. A 9-5 loss to Cherry Creek opened eyes as to what the Coyotes can improve on, and Auday maintains his team is “hungry and humble.” to think that same success can’t be repeated with the likes of Liam Connors and Charlie O’brien leading the attack and Max Warn, Corby Tecu, and a host of others playing fierce defense in front of Colin Selters.

Holy Family Tigers Coach: Lee Williams

The Scorecard: Williams takes the helm for the Holy Family boys, who did have their struggles last season but who also started the 2022 slate with a nice victory against Northfield. In that game, the Tigers spread out their scoring with five players tallying goals, and that kind of balance will be instrumental in keeping teams on their heels. Dalton Lane, Landon Peters, Thomas Perkins and Rylan Alpers make up the captainship of HFHS, which has six seniors gunning for the program’s best season yet.

Jefferson Academy Jaguars

Coach: Cory Hughes

The Scorecard: Coming off a 3-7 campaign in 2021, the Jaguars are ready to get back to PRE-COVID success — they were 9-6 in 2018 and 7-9 in 2019 as a still-growing program. JA started the season with a 9-7 win over Thomas Jefferson, so it appears there’s some hunger there, especially for a rather large senior class that runs 10-strong. Evan Shanks and Seth Bins return as 20-goal scorers, while Shanks also provides stability in the face-off circle. tied 4-4 at half. Sheridan listed nine returning starters, including all-region picks Camille Johnson, Ava Welty, Thayer Hubbard and Allie Hartman. Freshman midfielders Gabriella Mccollester and Lucy Connors boost Fairview’s depth as immediate impact players. “We are excited about the season and to keep building on last year’s success.” Sheridan said.
