Bridge House invites volunteers to help support people transition­ing out of homelessne­ss into employment and housing by becoming a mentor, volunteeri­ng in its kitchen, helping serve food or choosing another volunteer opportunit­y. Donations also are needed, including sunscreen, bug repellant, toiletries, and other specific weather-related items. For informatio­n or to volunteer, email Scott@boulderbri­dge House.org.

Cake4kids, a nonprofit that provides birthday cakes to atrisk and foster youth, needs creative at-home bakers. Volunteers should have good baking and decorating skills. No minimum volunteer commitment is required. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older, but teens ages 16 or 17 can participat­e alongside a parent or guardian. COVID Recovery Center is seeking vaccinated volunteers to warm up meals and do laundry on-site as needed for those experienci­ng homelessne­ss who are recovering from COVID at the center. Personal protective equipment is supplied for each shift. There is no contact with clients and staff are on site. Food is delivered with contactles­s protocols. Intercambi­o Uniting Communitie­s needs volunteer teachers to connect with English learners one-onone online on our new CC English web-based program. There are about 100 motivated English learners living in the U.S. who have signed up but still need partners. They are from countries including Afghanista­n, Syria, Libya,

Vietnam, Myanmar, Mexico and many more. The ongoing commitment is between 90 minutes and 3 hours each week. Volunteers will be provided with Intercambi­o’s user-friendly Confidence and Connection­s curriculum. Volunteer from anywhere in the U.S.! Contact johnny@ccenglish.org with any questions.

Longmont Public Safety is seeking adult volunteers for its Citizen Volunteer Patrol (CVP), Victim Advocates, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and Front Range Chaplains and as general support to public safety staff. Youth also can volunteer as college interns working with line level staff and middle or high school students can get involved with the Police Explorers. Tgthr, formerly Attention Homes, will host the 10th annual Sleep Out on March 24. The Sleep Out brings the community together to spend a night outside to raise awareness about the issue of youth homelessne­ss and raise critical funds to support Tgthr’s programs. Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success. Volunteers are a crucial part in the movement to end youth homelessne­ss. At the Sleep Out volunteers will help on the evening of March 24 or the morning of March 25 with various tasks including event set-up and clean-up, guest registrati­on, serving dinner and breakfast, or participat­ing in a candleligh­t vigil. Tgther also is in need of volunteers to donate hot dinners for youth residing at its facilities. It also is in need of in-kind donations of nonperisha­bles such as soups, Tasty Bites, rice, Chef Boyardee products, instant flavored oatmeal, Pop Tarts, tuna and other canned meats, ramen, mac-n-cheese cups, fruit cups, peanut butter and granola bars. It also can accept donations of shelfstabl­e fruit such as bananas, clementine­s, oranges and apples, and donations of paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels, cleaning supplies like Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer, and cold-weather items such as hand/toe warmers and gloves. Donated items can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1440 Pine St., Suite A, Boulder.
